No more magic?

And I met Maynard, a "celebrity" CM, while waiting for the fireworks on Friday, and he riffed with his routines for about 20 minutes, just for me, so that made the whole time magical.

So to me I'm just not seeing more negative CMs than positive!

Lucky you!! I have only watched Maynard in action once on HM.

We visit DL about once a week, had some very magical fun times with only the occasional oddball encounters that made me pause and go "hey, that's not right" (like the encounter I had with CMs on canoes).

But as Albort pointed out.. it's hard to liek working at a place that doesn't treat you very well, so give a smile to the CM who looks bored standing at the ODV cart all day.. say please and thank you to the attraction CMs and when you receive your food. I think they need it.

Who is Maynard and what does he do?

Maynard is a CM at Disneyland who has become popular/well-known because of his off-the-wall personality. He used to the be a CM at the Haunted Mansion, but now I believe he works at various locations throughout the park, including the parades, Tomorrowland, etc.

I've never seen him, but my kids saw him on "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" and they said he was really funny.

You can google him Maynard+Disneyland -- there is a site on him, too. You'll see a lot of entries on him. :)

The last time we visitedat stayed at the GC (Sept 06) we didn't even get housekeeping at all for 2 nights. I don't know why I didn't complain. It was odd. I had left a nice tip the first night and it must have scared them away, because they didn't show up at all the next 2 nights. We are staying at DGC again in May and I sure hope I see an improvement, because this seems to be a trend that is not positive. This is not the Motel Six..cleanliness and attitude should reflect that. (not that the Motel 6's I've stayed in haven't been fine)

You know,I jusy returned from my first ever trip to WDW as a DLR vet- I've had an AP to DL for over 7 years, and a frequent yearly visitor almost all my life before that-

and my DH and I found without a doubt that the CMs at WDW way surpassed those of DLR. Sad, really. I can only speculate as to why, but the CS at DLR tends to lack.

However, on the positive side, the bathrooms in DLR are way cleaner and maintained much better than ANY restroom we used in WDW.
