No more luggage tags?

We received our vouchers for the discounted golf, or free golf that we never use, and I got our magical express vouchers. No mickey tags this time =( Magic Bands shipped yesterday. Did Disney stop sending the luggage tags?

If I remember right, last year our luggage tags were in our Magic Band box, so they should be on the way with your bands.

Yes, look for the luggage tags in your Magic Band box. They send you ones that match your band selection (like Red = Mickey, I think, etc.). The ties for them are kinda hidden inside the cardboard tube the bands are on, so you have to kind of disassemble it. I never use those anyway since they barely work.

We did not have any in our Magic Band package this year that arrived on Friday....but I attributed it to the fact that because I am an AP holder this year and booked room only rather than a package, that this was the reason why. I ripped that box apart looking for them! Oh well.....hopefully yours will come with your Magic Bands. They are cute, the character ones, but I miss the old Castle ones

Yep. They are for wdtc packages only.

Any room-only reservation doesnt get them. Same for dvc.

Makes sense and was what I figured.....this was the first time in all of years going that we haven't had a package....so while I missed getting the tags we have gotten more than our fair share through the years so it's not big deal but thanks for clarifying!

Luggage tags come in the Magic Band box, but only if you book a package.

Sucks to be Canadian then. They don't send out our Magic Bands.....we get them on arrival at the resort. We got our Magic Express tags but not luggage tags.....

This thread has me a little confused. When you are referring to no more luggage tags do you mean those decorative they would send you to put your contact information on? In the past we got one for each person on the reservations (think they had the castle picture on them).

They still send the luggage strips that you can put on before you leave home airport so that Disney will collect your luggage in Orlando and deliver to your hotel room, right?

It's been a few years since we have done WDW as we have been cruising more lately. We do have a big trip planned for next April to spend several days at WDW before getting on the Wonder for the Panama Canal cruise and ending with spending a few days in San Diego area before flying home.

This thread is referring to the complimentary decorative luggage tags that you put your contact info on that is only given if you have booked a vacation package.
It is not about the Disney's Magical Express yellow luggage tags that you put on your checked luggage at your departing airport for Disney to pick up at MCO and deliver to your room.
If you take advantage of DME you will still receive the yellow luggage tags.

But why would you use the cutesie ones anyway for actual air travel? I would hate to get one ripped off in the machinery.

The newer ones that are color coordinated with your magic bands, only come with the magic bands in the box. This is something that started 2 years ago. The other ones you are thinking of are the ones that used to come with the reservation booklet, they had Mickey on them or something similar. They stopped giving those.

I always wonder how many people end up throwing their tags in the trash because they don't realize the tags are tucked in the bottom of those boxes.

Our Magic Bands arrived on Monday and our luggage tags were tucked on the side of that box with a tab telling us they were there. We got a blue one with Donald on it (my husband has a blue Magic Band) and a yellow one with Mickey on it (I have a yellow Magic Band). Unfortunately, it is drawn with that horrible new animation so I'm not too thrilled about them.
