No more Grad Nite @ WDW

Hmmm I dunno. This is a tough guess. Does WDW have different "Events" going on during May & June besides grad nights? Different events can definitely bring in larger crowds. Maybe grad nights is doubling up with another event and WDW doesnt want to deal with both. :confused3 But this is definitely something worth keeping an ear out for. I am sure we will hear more about why this is happening in Florida.

DLR has about 50 times more high schools around it than WDW. I'm sure it makes more money from the events with all those schools to raise demand.

I imagine just like at DLR people get upset planning around these parties, but WDW may have got bad feedback as thier guests come for a week and plan much further out. While at DLR the guests come for a day, live within 100 miles and can come the next day to avoid these closed events.

Here is the Disney news release.

They do have an event in late May early June. Star Wars weekends. It's in Disney Hollywood Studios. And while it's a big draw to Star Wars fans. The parks are so seperate that what happens in one doesn't stress the rest.

It's not like DLR with it's shared parking crews and security checkpoints.

I think WDW Grad nights start in late April so it can conflict with spring break crowds. Also Magic Kingdom closes at 7 pm on Grad Nights instead of 9 or 10pm, where DL ususally closes at 9pm on Grad Nites instead of maybe 10pm (so only an hour earlier if that).

I would hope they get rid of them at DLR as well... Both parks are just too crowded noadays to shut one down earlier than normal to prep for a grad nite... ;)
