No more FP+ for parades and fireworks

I liked it for FoF, but only after 2 other days at MK and a MNSSHP.

Perhaps the FP+ viewing areas for both Wishes, and the MSEP will be offered as perks for the MK paid events.

If so that is just something else being taken away from the regular day guests in addition to having higher crowds than normal the last couple of hours. Clearly, many people loved those FP+ s as they were always gone every day. Add this to the earlier closing times and lack of ADR's past 6PM and they are really making a huge effort to steer people away from MK in the evenings unless they are attending the "special" higher cost events.

My Wishes Fp is still showing for April 2. I really really hope they don't cancel

Very low capacity probably has much more to do with that.

Wishes appears safe until April 20. The parades are still being offered into May.

FP+ for wishes was a godsend for me and DS, he is in a WC. We finally got to see the projections on the castle, and the projections during the fireworks. We went to the very front of the area, and in front of that was a walkway kept clear by the CMs. So, no last minute kids on shoulders right in front of us. So, I will miss it. Also just nice to have elbow room, so nice, as we are not that mobile to relocate and shift around like guests on their feet and not in a WC.

I never understood why FP was needed...even used it once for FoF and it was ok but not necessary. The real question is...WHY? And what will become of those shiny new spots in the multimillion dollar hub makeover they just built? I smell a pay per view event...

MSEP showing as an available FP+ option for Thursday, May 5 which is one of the new paid event nights.

I really think that FP+ for Wishes and parades was a test in preparation for the paid events. It was so popular they knew people would willing to pay for a special experience. The same thing happened when they decided to use the Tomorrowland Terrace location for the Wishes dessert party. Back in the day this was a very popular location to watch Wishes for free. Now we have to pay for anything 'special'. Sad.:guilty:

We didn't use these FP+, but I know many did. Selfishly, I wonder what impact this may have on FP+ availability for attractions and SDFPs? All of those that would choose these FPs, now will move to other attractions, also they will most likely have 4th FP availability much sooner. All these changes are a little crazy for us planners.

Thank the cost overruns in Shanghai. Apparently departments at WDW/DLR were forced to make double digit percentage cuts to budget/spending to let them re-allocate funds to try to finish Shanghai on time. If you can cut a half dozen/dozen or however many CMs from having to be staffed for something that doesn't negatively impact guest throughput numbers, they might as well. Not offering FP+ for entertainment doesn't keep other guests from watching it, while having to cut staffing for a ride most likely means reduced hours for that attraction.

I hope so. It scares me they already took it off the map.

I have FoF for 5/31 and MSEP for 5/29. Hoping those don't disappear. I know many think they are a waste but with several MK days and small children they can be awesome, nothing better than not having to camp out with three little kids to get a good viewing spot.

My mom is older - I actually booked both of these as way to guarantee good seats and no waiting.

If that is the case, then this might only be temporary. We can hope.

I called up Disney customer service today and asked about the parade fastpasses for May, because I have an MSEP FP for May 23rd and a FOF FP for May 26th. I asked if I should cancel them or if he knew whether or not they were going to be cancelled. He said cancelling the parade fastpasses was rumor at this point, and not set in stone. He said that he didn't think my fastpasses should be affected because rumors were that they weren't discontinuing parade fastpasses that early (May). He said that if for some reason they did that I would be notified and could switch my fastpass to something else. Hope this is kind of helpful to anyone else with fastpasses for parades! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they won't cancel them. With little kids it's nice not to have to wait out for an hour or more to find a good spot!

Parade FP is supposed to be staying in the system for 90 days as of March 22. Will they take it out earlier, who knows at this time as no announcements have been made.

Personally I don't mind. I have enjoyed Wishes with and without a Fast Pass. The FP viewing was much nicer, however I can do without it.

My daughter says the saddest part to all this is that a lot of disabled guests use their Fast Passes for these shows since they are limited in what they can ride. I agree. I so hope Disney will designate an area for disabled guests in lieu of this recent change.
