Just saw on **************.net on fb that they have removed FP+ for parades and fireworks. We have only used them once and found it to be way too crowded, but I know many liked them. What is happening to our World??? So many changes today and none seem they great. It just does not seem like the same place anymore. I'm all for change, but I would like to see something in our favor.

I'm pretty impartial to this specific change. I prefer to watch parades from different locations anyways, and usually am not around for wishes, and if we are, we'll watch from fantasyland.
I will say that in the case of watching in front of the castle, I will miss the wishes fp. Who knows how crowded that area will be now (if they dont decide to charge for it or something...)

Is this effective immediately?

I liked it for Illuminations. The line to get in was super long. But once we entered, it didn't feel crowded at all. Loved that we didn't have to stake out a spot so early.

They never should have offered Fast Passes for Parades and Night shows anyway. It always felt like a waste of a FP (especially since you couldn't get a 4th FP since your last FP was locked up for late at night.

(Heck . I don't think they should offer Fast Passes for ANY show at WDW as most of them are a waste .. as it doesn't really save you any time (and sometimes theaters are NOT at capacity).

Sure .. in some cases you get nice "preferred" seating, but in general they are things that you can view from pretty much anywhere.

Guarantee they will now charge for those spots now in some way.

I am soo glad they offered Wishes when we were there last summer. We used one for our last night in the parks and it made for such an enjoyable final evening! Not everyone cares about getting a 4th FP, we just didn't need it but we did feel like we needed to end our vaca with a great view of CTM and Wishes in a spacious area where we actually enjoyed some ice cream while seated on the turf during the MSEP (we didn't need to see it, we had seen it another evening, we just enjoyed the atmosphere/music/what we could see of the parade while sitting). I am sad to see it go, if it is permanent.

I saw it posted on easywdw as well. As far as I know, only the Wishes fastpasses are ending. You can't book them after 4/19, I believe. I still have my MSEP and Illuminations fast passes for mid May.

I have read posts here of people having trouble booking MSEP for the end of May/Beginning of June.

MSEP is always a hard one to get (even at 60+ days). You have to stay vigilant. They open up spots a couple of times a month.

I think only MK is affected right now. The FP+ symbol has been removed from MK maps for MSEP, FOF, and Wishes per before/after photos I saw on Instagram.

I have know about this for the last 65 days when I tried to book FP for wishes I am still very disappointed that it is gone ( but I do have a disability that makes standing in a crowded area with noise going off all around me very hard to do) so FP made wishes a little more do able for me I had some space they were not going off all around me not sure what I will do my next trip. the parade I used it once and there was open room across from where I was I went never again and have not done it since.

This is interesting..on other threads I hadn't heard it was a permanent thing but people were questioning why they couldn't get fastpasses for certain firework/parades. Last time I went in 2011 they didn't have FP+.

I do know that some people absolutely loved and had success with FP+ with parades and fireworks shows but I had also seen many more disappointments than successes mostly with the firework shows. A lot of it centered around CMs yelling, being abrupt and rude because they stepped over the line into the FP+ area (I wasn't there can't say that they were or were not what the people described) as people were trying to watch Wishes. It seemed like in general it created more a of feeling of overcrowdedness and sardine-like. Then again I haven't been there since the FP+ came around.

I just checked and we still have our FP for the Festival of Fantasy parade on May 12th. Think that will go away?

I do understand that but the DIBB was showing availability everyday from 5/15-6/5 except 5/27, yet people were still having trouble booking.

I know most people think they are a waste, but the funny thing is that this was probably the only feature our family liked about FP+! With kids it was pretty great to walk up right before the parade and watch from a really great spot without people pushing you. We have MSEP and the regular daytime parade both booked for our upcoming May trip, as of now they are still showing on MDE, I hope this means we will still get to use them...?

I will miss the FP+ for Wishes. My last couple of solo trips, I went into MK on my arrival day - usually getting there about 4pm and I always chose a Wishes FP+ for that evening since I didn't have to wonder about having time to get a 4th FP+ on those nights.

We used fast passes for the Christmas parade and wishes during the crowded time between Christmas and New Years. I think it is sad that they are removing them. They made our experience so much more enjoyable. We have a member of our family who suffers from anxiety and these allowed our family to join in the fun of WDW at Christmas time. We did not have the option of coming earlier during the season so to be able to do this we had to put plans in place to reduce our exposure to massive crowds. We had a magical time and it was everything I had dreamed it would be. Rope drop, having a break and going back to our resort during the busiest time and going back latter, seeing the rehearsal run for New Years Eve fireworks at a desert party, watching NYE fireworks from our resort and using fast passes for Christmas themed events made the difference for us.

I had planned to get an MSEP one for our June trip so the kids wouldn't have to wait too long but I guess we'll just try around Hall of Presidents or Country Bear Jamboree.
