So, my Mom is currently in the parks and she texts me today, "Care to guess the bit of sad for you AK news?"

And it's,

No more Eeyore at the AK character spot(s). He's only going to be at the character breakfast at Crystal Palace. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I sure hope this isn't true. I've grown up loving Eeyore and I always, always get my picture with him every time we visit.

I'm afraid this is correct. Eeyore's last day at DAK was a couple weeks ago. He does still appear randomly at Epcot, but CP is his only regular/daily location.

Aww, thats a shame. I am not a frequent visitor, but I am a HUGE Eeyore fan...obviously. ;)

I see Eeyore everyday. I work with a lady that is very much like Eeyore, nothing goes right for, she's got this, and that, and sigh, woe is me, and I am waiting for her tail to fall off. :rotfl:

LOL!! I have a few of those too! I much prefer the cute donkey version.

Do you think Eeyore is being moved to a different park's character spot or something? I always like going to Crystal Palace. Food isn't anything to write home about but the building is beautiful, the location is great, and its one of the few places I ever see Piglet (and now Eeyore I guess).

I wonder why no more AK. I wonder if it freaked out the real animals seeing a 6ft tall donkey walking around on its hind legs and interacting with the weird two legged humans... Eeyore was a donkey, right? :confused3

:)

I think it has something to do with Avatarland. They moved Mickey and Minnie to a different part of the park to prep for it. I guess they figured Eeyore wasn't critical and removed him instead of moving him.

Oh so glad CP is a must-do for us. I'd be sad to miss seeing Eeyore. DS7 always asks him if a hug would cheer him up then gives him one. It's a Mom-tears-up moment every time.

Is this a normal trend that certain characters are pulled from normal rotation so a different character can be featured or a newer character be featured, or is it more a trend to fewer characters being available in the parks?? :confused3

As we are not members of the "Do WDW every 6 months club" it would not be something we would even notice without others mentioning it here. Obviously it would be difficult for Disney to have EVERY character featured on a regular basis but I just wonder if the total number of characters that are available remains steady or has been declining thru the years.

Luckily CP for breakfast will be on our to-do-list for our trip in Dec so Eeyore will still get a visit from us. :thumbsup2

They do tweak the characters from time to time, so this is likely just one of those times. Could mean that they're getting ready to add someone new ... could mean they added a character to dining or the parade so they had to pull one from M&G ... who knows.

The level of characters per park has stayed pretty much the same over the past few years, I think, except at MK, where they seem to shuffle, add, subtract more often.

:earsboy:

:( Eeyore has always been one of my must-see characters! Now I'm going to have to try to talk DH into a CP Breakfast one of our days.

I wish that Winnie met with different Hundred Acre Wood Gang in the different parks. I love Tigger and Eeyore but it would be great if Piglet were around and Rabbit too.

My BIL has been teased for years, that he was Eeyore. He talks slow like Eeyore, with drawn out words and pauses, it's quite amusing. He doesn't do it all the time, but often. :)

I just don't get what's so sad about this. If there was ever a character to make you want to jump off a tall bridge, it's Eeyore...
I like math. I feel like removing a negative results in a positive.

Apparently I am in the minority.

I have a soft spot for Eeyore. He was my late Mom's favorite character. She collected stuffed Eeyores and I always used to bring her one back from my trips. Sad that he's not going to be easily accessible anymore unless you go to CP.

I am grateful to Eeyore, actually. My son went through a depressingly negative phase when he was small, and eventually I began pointing out whenever he sounded like Eeyore. It straightened him right up! :lmao:

No one wants to be Eeyore...

Great story :D

We have a guy at my office we call Eeyore. He always sounds very ho-hum.

I think the world needs MORE Eeyores! Sure, he may not be the cheeriest one around, but he's always there for his friends, even when they take him for granted. Tigger may be bouncy and fun, but he's actually a bit self centered and thoughtless sometimes. Eeyore may focus on the negatives sometimes, but in my mind that makes him a realist. If I could hang out with anyone from the Hundred Acre Woods, I'd chose Eeyore any day!

I have mixed feelings about this - I am very fond of Eeyore and am sad he was pulled (wonder why?) but on the other hand, it will make CP more of a special treat! I remember when I was a kid seeing really special characters at breakfast that I wouldn't normally see in the parks. I LOVE character meals and I kind of like the idea that they will be more special because they will have characters I wouldn't normally be able to see. (Just wish they would add Rabbit!)
