Tried to book a package today thru Disney to get the tickets at the old price. CM told me they were not able to make package reservations today...you have to call back tomorrow. That means paying more for tickets.

Yikes! That's stinky!

If it helps, you can still buy tickets seperately online. :confused3

I tried using the WDW site today to compare prices w/undercover tourist prices and I couldn't get the WDW site to work for tickets. I ended up just buying at U.T.
I hope I did the right thing! Thanks to the "heads up" e-mail from Mary @ Mousesavers!

I spoke to a very nice CM a few moment ago and apparently they are going through a system upgrade today. He suggested I call back in a few hours as their Web site is not responding and no phone sales can be done at this time. Having written IVR systems this is probably just an outage as he says. I did complain about the web site being pretty unnavigable and apparently it is being overhauled as well. If so Saturdays mornings and early afternoon are the best time to do it on IVR systems (low volume). The scheduling may or may not be coincidental however.

I was planning to upgrade from 1 day base tickets (2A, 2c) to 10 day no expiration tickets, however if I cannot do it today at the current price I may not do it at all.

umm, yeah, convenient timing for an upgrade.

I check their site today to price an AP, and the only options that even come up to select are the AP add-ons. It acts like it doen't even have pricing for the AP. A few days ago, it would defalut to the Premium AP purchase option and you had to click to get to the base AP. Today... there are only add-ons.

It's one thing to declare a price increase, it's another to not honor the current price before that, by making it impossible to buy them.

Shabby IMO.

Seriously, I know a thing or three about web site design - this isn't some weird glitch in the ecommerce setup on their site.

I'm not usually one, to whine about stuff that Disney does, but this one does bother me as it strikes me as deliberately dishonest.

:sad2:

edit to add: I just read on another thread to try calling them to get the AP, so maybe that will work????

The have brought their systems down today to upgrade & load the new 2008 data. They aren't just randomly bringing down the computers today. Word broke on this on Thursday, so it's been out there for a couple of days.

I just got back a couple of hours ago from the Disney Store, where I was able to purchase APs at the old price. Plus there are wholesale discounters that still have tickets available. So if you really want WDW tickets before the price increase, you can still get them.

I called to PAY OFF my package, and couldn't even do that. And I was assured that my price won't increase, so I don't think it is a ploy by Disney. The CM couldn't bring up my info at all, just got an error message.

Yup, which is why I just purchased ours for our January trip through UCT. :thumbsup2

Better deal than Disney, too...and believe me, I did my homework. ;)

I tried to do this several times today, having just found out about the ticket increase(where have I been?). Everytime I got to the checkout, it would take me back to the home page. So I went to the Disney Store and purchased my tickets.

That's really odd! I bought mine this morning, so maybe I got in under the wire? Sorry you had to go all the way to the Disney Store (though depending on how you look at it, not the worst place you'd have to run an errand to ;) )

I bought park hoppers about an hour ago with no problems whatsoever

I tried to purchase APs on the website this morning, it said they were not available. Called DTC, and the very nice CM said they were upgrading the system. Then, at her suggestion, she took down my name, phone number, # of APs needed, and called me back this afternoon when the system came up..She completed the sale when I gave her my credit card info. I thought that was above and beyond, she could have just told me to call back later..

I am soo glad that you posted this, I was quite upset earlier today.

Just wanted to update...

I was able to book my package this morning at the same price I was quoted several days ago.

Yes, Feralpeg is back in business making gift baskets!

She put this one together for our friends. She does a great job!
