This may have been discussed already ? But I went back through 3 pages on this board and didn't find mention of it ?

From Allearnet site :

Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Friends

IMPORTANT: Beginning January 5, 2009, the Magic Kingdom's Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer offer character dining. The last character dinner at the Tavern will be on January 4, 2009.

I wonder if the dinner price will drop accordingly with no characters ? A bit of a disappointment. Guess just another cutback.......

That is correct. The characters are leaving Jan 5. Such a shame. :(

so have u heard anything about price adjustment for the dinner if there will no longer be a character experience ?

I haven't heard anything yet. I assume there will be more info closer to the date (or after it happens).

It was discussed more when the decision was first announced, and at that time the word on the street was that the price nor the menu were being adjusted. The only change will be the removal of characters.

Thanks Tricia and Joanna....

I had no idea when this was first announced, so this is new to me. I just started looking up places to eat for an upcoming WDW trip. The search engine was not working for me last night so I read through 3 pages. Now I've done some searching on Allearnet site and see it was announced in July. So sorry to drag this up again.
LTT was brought up by my family as an option for the characters dining. But we will never pay $29 for the dinner there now. We feel like we're paying the same amount and getting less. I guess people who never went to the character dining or even knew it existed wouldn't mind continuing to pay the $29/person.

Thanks again.......

I most likely will not be eating at LTT again. I really am going to miss it. :(

I would think the menu and/or price will be adjusted to a regular type menu rather than a family style meal with no choices; but, they may also keep it the same after there are no longer any characters and see how business is for a while before any changes are made.

I enjoy LTT's food as a nice change of pace, but not for that price without the characters.

The food is definitely yum, but I echo that it's not worth the price if there are no characters. I would hope that Disney would be smart enough to slightly lower the price because they can always raise it later if they're still getting the people eating there. Probably not though.

Our family is in the minority here as my family found our dinner here the worse of our trip. We found the food bland, the service blah and just not a good time was had.

But I do agree - definitely wouldn't expect to pay Character dining prices for it

We ate here last week during our honeymoon so we could do so with the characters one last time. My wife loves the food there, but I have a feeling we wont see it for a long time without the characters...

I would love to see LTT start serving a great breakfast, and a upscale dinner.

The lunch menu is very good and that is the only meal we usually eat in there.

We had breakfast there once during a special event and it was fantastic, we wished they would do that every day.

I wish they would go to an al a carte menu like at lunch.Lunch is awesome there. But I will never pay that price for no characters and Stouffers mac n cheese with turkey.

This is a family tradition. We eat at LTT before MNSSHP and really enjoy getting into the spirit of things. There have been a lot of bad decisions lately and I have tried to hold my breath but this is awful. Maybe if the people making these decicions would re-evaluate their pay scales the guests would suffer a little less and would keep coming back. I gues that's one more meal that will not longer be a must do. Soon the entire vacation will no longer be a must do, heck we can go to other parks for a lot less.

::yes::

We would dine at LTT more for the characters (liked it before MNSSHP when the characters were in costume) than anything else. We will not pay the price for the food w/o characters. Will find out soon if there are any changes....we can only hope!
