No more All Hands on Deck :(

tell ya what I will sell it for the bargain price of $38.00 and I will fill one with cheese and crackers, and you get 3 empty for free:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Brilliant! DCL has unwittingly started a cottage industry. Does the contract of carriage prohibit us from setting up shop in our staterooms? I'll personally raid the buffet and create "cheese boxes" for $8 each (that's a $30 discount from the DCL platter). You can pick it up, or I'll deliver it to you (for an 18% service fee, of course).:teeth:

How funny would that be to see lots of people in the buffet stocking up on cheeses and putting them zip loc baggies or containers!!! :worship: I would bet the staff would be so confused and wonder what was going on!

I am sure all the room service cast members that use to deliver cheese will be working at the buffet since they have lots of free time. Cheese delivery is a difficult time consuming job. I just hope no one gets laid off...

Don't forget you could expand by adding deli meats and olives. Think of the profit. Wait, i think that is what the Mouse is thinking... oops

I believe we have initiated a Cheddar Revolution! Watch out Mouse we are coming for your cheese :rotfl2::laughing::laughing::rotfl2:

Ahhh, but if packaged straight from the store and has all the FDA regs on it, an brought on whole, should be allowed. Then cut and repackaged for FE on board so that would work..... Now we only need to call Room Service for a cheese knife ... :)
Could also go with mini Babybels, I suppose

I would love to see a copy of the "new" room service menu. If anyone has a pic, please share. TIA

Hi Summerskye, I am new to the boards and trying to get some info. I am not sure you may have already gotten this answer but if not I have come across this:

1/6/16: Several items have been removed from the Room Service menu in 2016. These include:
Salad Nicoise; All Hands on Deck cheese plate; Fresh Fruit Bowl; Steak Sandwich; Grilled Salmon Steak; Four Cheese Pizza; Vegetarian Delight Pizza; Sliced Ham, Turkey and Swiss Cheese Sandwich; Chicken and Guacamole Fajita; Buffalo Chicken Wings.

New or modified items include: Greek Salad; Mixed Garden Salad; Grilled Salmon Salad; Cheese Pizza; Margarita Pizza; Grilled Cheddar Cheese Sandwich; New York Steak Panini; Key Lime Pie.

Now available at an upcharge from Disney's In-Room Gifts:
Deluxe Fruit Medley - $29
Fruit and Cheese Platter - $38
Nature's Delights (fruit platter) - $21

I love how just the like the alcohol thread, where some people were accusing everyone who was upset as being a drunk, that there are people over here pretty much doing the same thing. :rolleyes2 Those few people can't understand that this is really about the series of recent moves by DCL to remove advertised and unadvertised perks while increasing prices.

It's kind of like what was stated before. We all paid a ton of money to get on the cruise ship. This wasn't enough for DCL. Instead of us paying all that money and enjoying some wine and cheese in our room for a small portion of the day, while out spending money on the ship, Palo, excursions, cabanas, drinks around the ship, etc the rest of the day... now they want that brief wine and cheese moment to also fall into our extra spending category.

They want us in their bars. Especially now with wings off the room service menu and offered as a paid bar selection. Or they want us ordering the $38 cheese plate which happens to be $54 CDN at the moment plus tip.

Yep, I keep waiting for the "If you can't go a few days without cheese then you have bigger problems" comments to show up :rolleyes1

I wish I knew what the real reason was. For all the work our servers have done trying to get us to eat MORE on the ship, down to the cruise director saying over and over again until it made us ill "if you see it, eat it", I can't imagine the cheese was a high cost to them. I actively try to refuse food, and they drop off plates of things we didn't order during dinner trying to get us to try everything. Then they take away my small plate of cheese? Something fishy is going on..! :fish:Maybe people were leaving the cheese to mold in the fridge? Or maybe we attracted the wrong kind of mouse...? Maybe if we all chip in together we can get a spy on the inside!! :magnify:
