No more 6 inch cakes at DLR! Now what??....

I called to order my son a 6 inch cake for his upcoming bday at Goofy's Kitchen and was told they no longer sell the 6 inch cakes. The next size is 10 inches and a whopping $52.00!! Besides the outrageous price, I don't think we could eat all that cake in our 2 day visit anyway.
The other option she gave me was the pirate cake in a treasure chest for $15. Anyone done this one? He'll be 10, so I hate to give him a cake for little kids. Any other options in the area? I don't want to travel too far, but if their is a bakery nearby, it could be a possibility.
Thanks so much. I'm trying to make this the best birthday ever, and its not going so well so far!

I don't know if you were given the correct information?? It seems funny unless this is somehting new that they started with the new year.
The reason I say that is because I have ordered a 6 inch through vacation planning that will be delivered to our room in 2 days while we are staying at the DLH.
I did place my order about 3 weeks ago.

Check with vacation planning

Call (714) 956-mick and ask them for the number to vacation planning and ask to speak to Lauren Flicker as she is the one who put the order in for us for the 6 inch.

I called vacation planning, but they gave me disney dining because we are staying at a Good Neighbor hotel. The woman at the vacation number told me they just within the past 2 weeks changed the policy and couldn't offer the 6 inch cakes. I don't know if I'd be able to call vacation though since we aren't staying on-site.

DD10 got the $15 treasure chest Princess cake, it wasn't the best cake ever but it was OK and we all ate it. Of course it's not a full size cake, it's about 2 or maybe 3 cupcakes put together but it was good for us. It was a bit dry, had been sitting for a while obviously but it tasted fine. And she has the treasure chest to keep stuff in.

Hmm, I ordered a 6" yesterday. I had intended to get the 10", which I'd gotten priced at $32 a couple weeks ago but was told it's now $62, yikes! We are staying at the dlh, si maybe that's the key? Or maybe you just got an unhelpful person. I'd try again, jic. Good luck!
