Hi everyone,

I read on one of my Facebook groups that DFTW will not be offering Magic Kingdom Photoshoots in 2015. Their reasoning is that there will be too much construction in MK during that time. 2016 is also put on hold.

Can any DWTW brides confirm?

I'm devastated. I'm planning a June 2015 Escape wedding and wanted the photoshoot so bad! It was my dream! I'm sure many of you feel the same way.

I seriously want to cry right now if this is true. Currently planning an August 2015 Escape... 95% of the reason I wanted to get married at WDW vs. DL was the in park shoot

Hi I know this won't help. We had construction during our Photoshoot and probably could have got better pictures. We were satisfied with our shots but our favorites were from Epcot.

Does anyone know if they would let 2015 brides take photos in 2016 then?
I imagine my fiance & I will end up there for our anniversary & it would be nice to have a shoot then if possible.

Yes DFTW brides can go back at any time to have a MK or other park shoot.

Yes, assuming they decide to continue them in 2016. As of now, 2016 is on hold as is the future of MK shoots in general, from what I was told by DFAP when I inquired about a shoot earlier this week.

I have confirmed with Disney Fine Art Photography that this is not true. They just aren't booking 2015 right now because the MK has not yet given them the available dates. If you are within 1 year of the shoot date you want, you can call DFAP right now (407-827-5099) and get on a waiting list to be booked when availability is released. If you are more than a year out, you have to wait until your year-out date to call, but hopefully by then the MK will have communicated the dates to DFAP and you'll be able to just book the shoot.

Carrie,

What about Escape Brides? I'm looking at a June 30, 2015 wedding.
When can I call?

You are amazing Carrie!!

Escape and Memories brides can call 1 year out, so you can call June 30. Only Wishes couples who are NOT using DFAP for their weddings have to wait til 45 days out. :thumbsup2

That's interesting - good to know. It does not align with what I was told on Monday when I called. We were married in 2012 and MK shoots were blocked out at the time, so I wanted to schedule a shoot when we are in WDW next April (which we just booked over the weekend). I was told they are not booking MK shoots in 2015 due to construction. I was given no indication that they were waiting on availability for 2015, but maybe she just didn't know that on Monday.

Glad to see this update, so i can call again.

Here is the reply I just received from my wedding consultant:

Regarding the Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session, due to the enhancement project that is currently taking place in the immediate surrounding area of the Cinderella Castle hub during 2015 and 2016 – the Magic Kingdom Operations team has asked Disney Fine Art Photography to refrain from scheduling any Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait sessions for 2015 and 2016 for the time being. However, IF you will be using Disney Fine Art Photography to photograph your Ceremony and Reception – you can now contact our Scheduling Coordinator for Disney Fine Art Photography to give your preferred dates for a Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session. The Scheduling Coordinator will add your dates on the schedule/waiting list, so if and when the Magic Kingdom Operations team provides Disney Fine Art Photography the green light to schedule the Portrait Sessions, you are already on the waiting list. Please note there are no guarantees that Disney Fine Art Photography will be able to schedule and book a Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session for you around the timeframe of your Wedding.

If you will not be using Disney Fine Art Photography to photograph your Ceremony and Reception – you will have to wait until you are within 45 days of your Wedding date to contact our Scheduling Coordinator for Disney Fine Art Photography to have your preferred dates placed on the schedule/waiting list to book a Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session.

Please always keep in mind the Magic Kingdom is a working stage and Theme Park. Therefore, Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Sessions can be cancelled at any time, and for any reason.

I'm a Memories bride and not using DFAP for our wedding, do I have to wait until 45 days out?

Escape brides in a similar situation have been able to book 1 year out, so I say call DFAP and find out. I mean, in both cases, you are paying for DFAP as part of the package, even if you don't use them.

Ok, so I just contacted them for this info as well.

If they were to not have photo shoots, could you go back later and do one even if it's not in wedding attire?

When we got married in 2012 the MK was blacked out due to new fantasyland construction, and we were told we could come back anytime for a shoot. I called on Monday to book one for when were there in 2015, and was told no shoots in MK in 2015 and 2016 is also uncertain. Carrie posted that she was told differently.

If they're doing shoots, yes, you can come back and do one later if your dates are blocked out around your wedding.

This is so upsetting. My fiancé and I are booking our wedding on Monday since it is exactly a year out. When we speak with our consultant I will let everyone know what she says. I'll be really disappointed if this is the case, especially since I spoke with our consultant less than three weeks ago at length about MK shoots and she never said a thing. I suppose it's possible that she did not know, but I would think that is something that they should be informed on. Like I said, I'll post again on Monday after I speak with her.

I just got back from my site visit 5 hours ago and Cheri said they are definitely not booking appts but she knows disney is quick with construction so who knows it might be finished early. Also you can go back after your wedding to do the MK shoot.

I have a few questions about MK shoots and park shoots in general.

We're having a DCL vow renewal ceremony in August 2015 - we're hoping to have either a MK shoot or a HS after the cruise.

As a DCL bride when am I able to book a park photo shoot.

if MK is not available in 2015 will we have an open invite to do it again in the future or will this be time limited?

is it correct that once you've held a park shoot in one park you can do another in any other park anytime in the future?

What is actually included with the package?

Thanks for your help

As soon as you book your event.

Yes. You can come back at any time once you've had a DFTW.

What is actually included with the package?

One 4x6-inch print of each image and a folio of 12 images. You can also view your images for a short period on Disney's website.
