No mirrors?

I was just wondering what goes through someones head when they look in the mirror before they head out the door to the park for the day or do they not have mirrors? I thought I have seen it all. Every stage of inappropriate dress at the park. From women in heals, nylons and skirts, to people looking like the rolled out of bed, to those who are just not dressed for the weather, to teen girls thinking they are on a runway or something. But the worst is those not dressed for their body type. I am not one to knock someone for being "pooh" sized or anything, and I am a big believer in dressing for comfort and being happy with ones self, but please. At the park I saw a rather large women/girl (i would say early 20's) dressed very skimpy. She had on one of those backless tanks. The kind that have the criss cross straps arcoss the back. I only saw her from the back so I dont know how the front looked, but the view from the back was not good. The straps cut into her and all of the "handles" and "rolls" were all out. Im not knocking her for being big, but just for wearing that kind of shirt. The Sweetpea had a million questions about what happened to the rest of her shirt? and Why is her "chub" out? I didn't know what to say, but all I could think in my head was that why wasn't someone wasn't on "roll patrol" for her before she left the house. I hope this doesn't come off as being mean, I just dont get what people think when the get dressed.

Oh well, you know how we fat people are, we like to show off our blubber so skinny people can say they aren't being mean, just wondering why we feel the need to dress like the rest of the world. As a "pooh" sized woman I would love to dress cool and comfy like everyone else but know how offensive people find my chub so I don't. Maybe the girl just likes to be tacky like all the other girls I see in tank tops showing everything from bra straps to tattoos to marks made by over zealous "friends". Had this same conversation with my sister who just got back from a cruise and was "grossed out" by all the fat people like me who go out in bathing suits so I guess I am feeling a little sensitive about this! I'll make sure my husband roll patrols me from now on!

Amy&Dan - From the post you seem to think that I myself am not "pooh" sized. But I am. I dont find it offensive. Just dont understand why some people dress like that is all. Dressing cool and comfy is quite different than dressing inappropriately. I would have thought nothing of her is there had been a back to her shirt. And your sister being grossed out by overweight people in bathing suits on a cruise is quite a different thing in my mind. If they were by the pool or something like that is one thing, it would be an appropriate place for suits in my opinion. The backless tank on this girl was at DL. There was definatly more material in a bathing suit than this girls shirt.

Sorry, Amy&Dan.....I have to agree with Stacerita.
I am more than "Pooh" sized, and so is my DD (age 22).
We still manage to be comfortable, and wear cute, stylish clothes without being only "half-dressed".
I don't care what the latest fashion statement is...there are going to be some people that it just doesn't look good on, and is in bad taste, or maybe even downright indecent.
I personally don't want anyone to have to look at my flubber. I think it's gross, and if I do, then I'm guessing there are a lot of other people out there who would think so too.
And a swimsuit at the pool IS totally different. Every shape and size has the right to go for a swim. But there should be classes in choosing the appropriate swimsuit.

Guess I just felt the words of chub and roll implied that pooh sized was the main offense. In theory I agree with you that the skimpy thing is out of control. For ALL shapes and sizes. For instance while on the jungle cruise in May my son and I were treated to a nice view of some girls bottom crack ( how else to say it) during the ride due to her low riding jeans. At first I thought why doesn't her dad say something to her but then they began to kiss and I realized "dad" was the boyfriend/husband. I guess my point is that bad taste comes in all sizes! It didn't make me feel any more comfortable that the rear end was a size six, I was angry that this was what my son got to look at on the Jungle Cruise! Naturally, this was the highlight of his trip, at age 9 anything gross, base and embarrassing is always a hoot! Good taste is a good thing for anybody.

::yes:: Exactly, Amy&Dan....I agree with that 100%....and I have a feeling that's what Stacerita meant, too.
My DD (age 14) and DS (age 10) and I were talking about how the school has a dress code for the kids. No tank tops, no hip huggers, etc. But the teachers can wear thong underwear, and bend down in front of the class and have their thong show! I've seen it myself at conferences more than once. I decided to write a letter to the school board.

Funny how similar the two names are, mine & Stacerita!

Oh, now we're gonna do the thong thing! My daughter got to see this girl's thong all during the Snow White show. It was a real educational trip in May let me tell you. Anyway, after the show she (aged 7) says to me that ladie's underwear was broken! Who wants to see thongs during snow white? That thong was ten times more scary than the evil stepmother! They need a family friendly dress code at Disneyland! Personally, I hope the preppy look I knew and loved in high school comes back soon: button downs, loafers, khaki pants, ahh those were the days!

I was in no way getting on the girl for being large. Just for her choice in attire for the day. I would have thought the same attire for a tink size girl wouldn't have been right either, but chances are if the girl was small i wouldn't have noticed as much. A regular full coverage tank is skimpy enough for all sizes IMO.

And as far as butt cleavage goes, yuck! I never want to see that and I hope to never see what type undies someone is wearing. That is just tacky and shows no class.
