No Mickey Mail?

35 days out and today we got our ME envelope...still waiting on our mickey mail
funny thing is we were excited to see the ME envelope that we totally missed the one other important piece of mail that came today. my daughters acceptance letter into LSU for 2012 -- its was just an awesome mail day today

20 Days and our Mickey Mail came today. Love the new luggage tags. I'm still amazed that we're less than 3 weeks away. We've been counting down for so long.:cool1:

I have a question on the same topic...

We arrive on November 18th (8 more days!) and I haven't received anything yet! We are not using ME, and we rented DVC points, so I was wondering if I was supposed to get anything.

What do you think?

No, you won't get anything. You're not getting ME tags, and you're not buying a Disney Vacation package, so you don't get the luggage tags and discount vouchers. We also have 2 one-night room-only reservations and we didn't get any mail for those, just email confirmations.

You're good to go! Have fun!

I received my Mickey mail last week at 24 days out but no ME. I called ME and they told me they mailed them to my old address on 10/21 - I haven't lived at that address in 2 years. Everything else on my reservations has my current address. Hopefully I will receive the ME in a few days.

our upcoming trip is 20 days away (!) last week we rec'd our DME tags & doc's and saturday (this past) we rec'd our coupon book etc. I thought it used to come a lot earlier, but the excitement is starting to build!!!!!!!

14 days today and still nothing. I think I'll call monday if I still don't have anything I forgot about the new luggage tags, MIL would want to have one of those.

I would def call... we have always gotten our by 30 days out. Getting that mickey mail is all part of the excitement! :)
have a great trip!

Congrats to your daughter!!!:cool1:

Also - have any of you been to Disney in December before? I'm debating on what clothes to pack. I don't want to pack too many heavy things because I'm not convinced it is going to be heavy coat, hat, and gloves kind of weather. I mean, it's Florida, not Canada!!

Thanks again,
Janna

Just pay attention to the weather before you go. I went in December of '08 and could wear t-shirt and shorts (and maybe jeans & a light sweater at night) Last year I went in December and it was downright FREEZING. I had to wear a Jacket & Gloves even in the morning. Florida weather is so unpredictable you should pack a little bit of everything just to be sure.

FYI - I emailed Disney before I saw this thread, this was my reply.

"Guest vacation packages are normally mailed out 30 days prior to guest
arrival."

So I would say if you are less then 20 days out, I would call.

We are 27 days out and the mailman just delivered our documents. We got our Magical Express stuff about a week and a half ago.

I would call. I was right around 3 1/2 weeks out and hadn't gotten anything, so i called and she said... it was printed on XXXX day, so you should be getting it anytime. Well the end of that week i got it and it was post marked the day i called! Hmmmm

We're at 29 days & haven't gotten it yet. I'm not too worried. We used a TA, so they get sent to her & she mails to us. I think we got them just over 2 weeks out last time, IIRC. We don't use ME though, so there's no worrying about the ME tags for us.

What do you ask for when you call? Is it actually called Mickey Mail? I don't want to get silence on the other end of the phone.

We go 12/11 and got our ME passport thingy and the yellow luggage tags, but that's all. I thought we usually got the luggage address tags in there but hopefully they are still coming!

Thanks guys! I don't feel so left out now! LOL!

The last two times we were there in Jan and it was super freezing!! And, somehow, the cold there seems colder, more biting than even the temperature tells. I think it's because of the winds and the dampness in the air, and spending so much of the day outdoors you just get chilled to the bone! Luckily we brought our winter coats, gloves, scarves, etc, and tshirts and sweatshirts for layering under our coats. And my daughter even wore long underwear pants. One of the biggest Jan cold snaps in a long time! And, I hear that last year in Dec, they had record cold temps as well, some of the coldest days in Dec in many years! So, even though its a pain, I'd bring plenty of heavy things for cold, cold weather just in case. It's expensive to buy a bunch of stuff just to be able to stay warm! You really spend so much time outside in the parks that you need to be prepared, lol! :thumbsup2

Hopefully, though, this winter will be more on the usual side with the temps closer to the normal average of about 74!! Been wishing, and praying, and crossing everything, lol, hoping for some nice weather for a change!! :santa:

DH came inside with the mail yesterday, "Its all junk mail." and I jumped up and down...we got our Mickey Mail!!!!! he thought it was junk, LOL
And we're 28 days out now.
