I just called and the CM double checked on the AP rates. He said that right now the discount is only through April 16th. So March first is not a magical day for AP holders. Unless by some strange chance they come out later today but I'm not holding my breath because I would end up looking like this...:sad2:

Yes, I called too for AP rates and NOTHING. The CM was actually annoyed because she said the internet was full of rumors. Yea, right... :confused3

Not going to lie, I'm disappointed.

New ones have to surface soon, right? RIGHT?!

I am frustrated beyond all compare. I don't understand why the GP code is out though June and for part of August but not the AP code. I do have the GP booked because I noticed the Pop availability dwindling (preferred and standard rooms went to standard only awhile back). And because I wanted dining I had to pay for tickets. Which will be ok in the long run if AP's don't come out since I can use them later. But I would much rather have that money for other stuff this trip. I also want to do a split stay and don't want to have to pay tickets on both. So that has me waiting for AP rates. And lastly I have the money and want to pay in full. But I don't want to get stuck overpaying and having to wait on a refund.

SO PLEASE DISNEY GIVE US THE AP RATES!!!

it's not a matter of if, but when right? History says that Disney has pretty much offered AP rates all year long (with some ver brief exceptions), even in years that were much better, economically, than this year. So it would seem terribly strange not to offer AP discounts during a year in which the economy is still sluggish.

Yes but Disney always released the AP discount rates earlier than the GP rates until this last Fall. They used to take care of their fre
quent visitors but it looks like they're happy to just take us for granted.

I'm thinking that maybe they're waiting so long because they will cover a longer time period when they eventually do come out?

It's been longer than three months now since the last release, it has to be soon...:worship:

Princess I am sure it is a "when" but it is frustrating. I have been an AP holder since 2001. There was only one time several years ago I saw one September go by without an AP discount.

It's just hard not to get discouraged and wrapped up in the "maybe there won't be anymore discounts" talk when you are waiting for a discount.

I'm not proud of my reaction checking the AP site this morning. It wasn't QUITE toddler-style meltdown, but it wasn't far off. Good thing my office was empty.

For Disney NOT to reward AP people doesn't make sense...these are the people that come year after year, month after month...."frequent flyers"...LOL...I have been 4x in the last 18months...even if the economy is starting to pick up, it's still NOT recovered and thriving...WDW needs my $$...the discounts will come, I think...But, why make us wait so long!!!! UGH

They don't cover a longer period. It is usually just a couple of months. There are general public codes that go into Oct.

Add me to this group. Watching and (no so patiently) waiting for an AP discount. Unless I can find a good deal, DH won't agree to going in September like I'm hoping. The only deal I have right now is the Florida resident room only discount, which is all well and good but DH likes the dining plan. :(

ARGH, me too, waiting, waiting, waiting!!!! It's funny that we're on several threads now watching!!!! There's a GP room only code for August through Oct 1, but not an AP one? What's up with that???

Really aggravated there's no AP rates out yet.
We're going end of June into July. We LOVE split stays... doing 4 resorts this trip, dining on most of them. We know we're doing Pop the bulk of the trip at the start.... but then want to do a night at BC... OR Poly - not sure... depends on if Ap rates and what they are. Also need POFQ for a night or two, and again, really want to get it booked and paid off, but um, can't, no AP rates yet. Even a GP rate would be nice... but really need that AP rate to add the deluxe dining.

Hate that we can't do the free dining, and have to buy tickets in order to do so. As it is, family all has APs, and when it comes time to renew all of ours, we already each have a 4-day ticket to apply to that. Certainly don't need no more!

But now am stressing since waiting on AP rates, need to see what there is to make a decision on the second half of our stay - where we're staying. And my ADRs - want them set in stone already! Have them all booked - but are TOTALLY subject to need to be moved around depending if we do Poly, BC - want our Cape May to be on BC day, Ohana on Poly day, etc. But now with stupid free dining... all the ADRs will soon be goobled up before AP rates come out and fearing I won't be able to then switch them around so they work for us.
ok. vent over, loL!

At first I thought they would only cover some of the summer when they are released, but now I'm starting to think that maybe they will go though the middle of August. Last year they released rates on 1/1/10 that went from 1/1/10 to 6/3/10.

Going off topic for a minute.........just wondering if you could tell me why you like doing so many split stays? I always thought it would be an inconvenience to have to move our stuff, check-in/check-out, etc. What's the flip side of doing split stays that makes it worth while to you?

Why so many split stays? because we're crazy like that:) No, really, for us values are more in our budget. We love Pop, sentimental favorite for us. So do bulk of time there. But we love all the resorts, POFQ another favorite, so always try to get in a night or two there. Then the deluxes, we always want to do a night, kids really like the pool slides, and zero entry is a must for my 8 year old autistic son. At first we tried a night or two here or there to experience all the different resorts. Now our issue is we've gotten more and more favorite resorts, so is nice to spend our time at Pop, but then do a night or two at the other places we love, and for the pools, and convenience of being near epcot/DHS, or on the monorail. WLodge we find convenient for our Thanksgiving trip - just works well, we love it there, love WCC, love booking a resort photopass session there, so it fits in with our plans to just switch and stay there that day, for example.

We live out of suitcases, so packing up isn't too much of an issue for us. Checking in has always gone smoothly and disney transferring the luggage is great. only downside we find is it DOES make it tough on our schedule. If going to splurge and do a night at BC, for instance, then we want to work our schedule so we have a good bit of downtime that day to actually enjoy that resort.

I don't think I could be any more frustrated! I convinced my DH to buy AP this year so I could get two (possibly three) trips out of him again this year. My big selling point was the AP discount. My payoff date is in 2 weeks and I am at rack rate right now. I wasn't smart enough to take the GP offer that expired because I need to add dining and that would mean canceling our first ressie and booking again. I wouldn't want to wait for all I have paid on the trip so far to be released to my credit card.
I will NEVER EVER buy an AP again!

Just my 2 cents!

I actually did the exact same thing last year and was (luckily) able to get our two trips out of it. DH didn't get it until we got the nice discount in July and December. I was really hoping to squeeze in another one before it expires July 8, but I don't know!!! Hate this waiting!!!
