If your guest is listed in MDE on a WDW resort reservation, you can order a MB via MDE. The plain ones cost $5, I think, and there are numerous lovely new colors. There are also many different designs available, at various costs discounted from what they'd be at DisneyStore.com, which is another source for buying them before arrival. There are even some "pre-arrival exclusive" designs available via MDE.Will my guest get a room key? Will admission be on it? Alternately, how can we get a magic band for him before we get there?
Thanks...

However, if no MB, your guest can get a key card at the front desk on check-in to the resort. I'm not sure whether admission will be on it, but based on recent references to Key to the World cards here on DISboards I think that might be a possibility. If it isn't, they can get an RFID ticket at the turnstile of the first park they visit - just show the confirmation number for the ticket purchase to the CM at the gate. So they might have a key card for the hotel and a separate ticket card for the parks, or they may be combined into a KTTW card, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone will chime in with definitive answer to that question!

I don’t know. I think you just have to follow the link and look at what’s there, and if what you want isn’t there, check again the next day because the selection seems to change frequently. I do know that once you place an order, even if for only part of the traveling party, you can’t add to it or change it.Do you know if they offer the limited edition on sale at that time on MDE ?
I know , I almost bought the Dooney and Bourke one , but the shipping cost to Canada (50$) and then the custom cost (60$) Made me rethink my project ....You can order a magic band on the Disney website and link it to your reservation. We are going in April and got 4 magic bands this week. They shipped directly to our house. Below is a Disney page with more detail:

Wow, that would be a crazy amount to spend on a magic band! We made our reservation and ordered the magic bands before they went to $5, so we actually got them for free. We noticed last week that there was some delay with the order getting processed, but Disney honored the $0 price and they should be here any day.I know , I almost bought the Dooney and Bourke one , but the shipping cost to Canada (50$) and then the custom cost (60$) Made me rethink my project ....
No...once they've been activated in your name they can't be switched. We have a few MB's from over the years and taking our adult children and their SO's. Are we allowed to reset our MB's into their names?
That's a bummer.No...once they've been activated in your name they can't be switched.
