OK, so I am starting to plan our summer vacation and it's not going to be to Aulani for this year.:sad1: Our booking window is here now...haven't confirmed our resort choice with DH yet BUT figured our last resort to try at WDW is BWV so that's where we should go since we're making the rounds. It will use about 18 more points than staying at SSR which kinda bugs me but... (I am trying be as conservative as I can as I am planning WAAY ahead thru 2013 & since we don't have those point charts yet I am only guessing what we'll need to do spring break again next year AND Aulani & VGC next summer - without starting the borrowing pattern.)

I was HOPING we could get a std. view but knew it wasn't likely - just called & realized it would be harder than I'd thought BECAUSE I think we're going to go for more than 7 nights so can't waitlist all of the ressie together - since it's not our home resort we'd never be able to waitlist more than 7 nights.:headache: We'll be splitting time between Magic & Dream seasons. Just called...they had the first 5 of the first 7 nights avail. in std. & I considered waitlisting but then realized it would be too hard to probably be able to get the other couple of nights at the end if we go for more than 7 - so I didn't waitlist for the standard view. I mean we MAYBE could get the 7 nights std. but probably NOT be able to get the rest, right? Would that be everyone else's assumption? 7 nights are hard enough to get??:confused3

ANYWAY...so I have to call back a couple of times to add nights to the end of the ressie & I want to add a room location request when I do. I had asked this once before, not TOOOO long ago but now I can't find my notes & I couldn't find the thread either. :headache: I think it was suggested to ask for the top floor but can't remember now what other comments came in as far as noise levels & elevator locations etc., etc.

What requests do YOU ask for at BWV?! What do I need to know about the B/P views at BWV? We don't usually care if we have lockoffs or not (if the room connects it seems like it's always a good spot to store our Owners Locker or stack luggage). THANKS for any thoughts I should consider!!

Is this your thread?
disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2830667

I usually find it easier to go to google and search with site:disboards.com

Ie: "annie bwv view request site:disboards.com"

:thumbsup2 Thank you! Yes, that was it!! :goodvibes Looks like "upper floor" and "not 1st floor" are pretty much what I should think about! :goodvibes

Some people like "village green" because that gives you a partial BW view.

I thought "village green" was in the standard view category?!:confused3 Hummm...even though this is just a studio for 9 nights it's gonna end up costing us well over half of our annual pot of points & I want to bank some to use for spring 2013 and Aulani & DL that summer SOOO if we're gonna blow all these points I figure I may as well have the full on BW view, right?!

OK, so just called back to start editing our ressie. I dropped the first day 'cuz I decided I didn't want to pay Fri. night points in Magic Season then started added a day to the end...tomorrow I'll call & start adding days to extend the stay. I figure I'll add in a cushion for the flights so that once I see when it's cheaper to fly I can finalize the ressie. I think we'll stay about 9 nights so I will make the ressie for 10 nights for now until I book the flights & get that squared away.

Anyway, I made sure to add Boardwalk view not pool and asked for an upper floor. She asked if I wanted the TOP floor but according to my other thread some had said those balconies are smaller so I asked how many floors there are & she said 5 so I said give me 3rd.:rotfl: How's that for a request? Should I have said 4th floor?! :rotfl2:

I'm a bit confused--do you have a SV room booked or a BW view room booked? We have not stayed in SV rooms but were in a BW view 2 bedroom last summer and we loved it. We were on the same floor as the lobby but I can only imagine that higher would be better.

We have a B/P studio. There were no standard views available for the entire time and since we want more than 1 week total I figured waitlisting would be a pain & a disappointment (at best). Anyway, when I called back to add a day she read back the reservation & she said "pool / garden view" and I said I wanted to be sure to get a boardwalk view. I didn't realize they actually separate the 2 views as a request. Since they call it B/P I just wasn't thinking. So I just made sure it says boardwalk now. What floor is the lobby on? Is that the 2nd floor?? The results on my last thread were mixed on the best floor to request. Some said higher & some said those have smaller balconies. :confused3 That's why I went with 3rd - figured it was in the middle!! :rotfl: The CM I had seemed to wonder why I was requesting an upper floor (as if that was an unusual request or something). But am wondering now if I should ask to be near elevators or something too?!:rotfl:

Are you certain you have booked the boardwalk view category? Preffered view is split into two different categorys...BW and pool/garden. Are you sure you dont have preffered/pool garden..but with a request for BW view village green..which you have a small chance of getting.

its worth checking you are actually booked with a BW view category and not just a request!:)

Yes, thanks, I made sure they had us down for the Boardwalk view yesterday. :goodvibes (And when I called this morning to add another day when the CM read the confirmation back to me she said "Boardwalk view". :thumbsup2)

I have never had good luck with requests at BWV. Once I even had BWV points transferred in and requested high floor. We were booked into the first floor, right next to the preview room! :confused3 I do enjoy staying at BWV though, and am happy to take whatever we get.

Oh thats great then!...let me tell you..you are going to lOVE boardwalk view:love:...We spent 7 nights in a 1 bed BW view last summer..it was FANTASTIC..I was blown away and totally spoiled with the view. You will be glad you didnt go standard..everyone should experience boardwalk view at least once!:thumbsup2

I just hope we like it PERIOD. Lots of people like it there but they may be the same ones who like OKW (which is at the very, very bottom of our "like" list). Everybody has different preferences... Since the point values are so much higher at BWV than at OKW we're expecting more from it that's for sure. It's the 2nd oldest DVC resort, right? We are hoping it's in better shape than OKW was at this age. (Curious question...anybody know if they've upgraded to flat screen TV's there yet? :confused3)

I always get boardwalk view and request top floor. One time I got 2nd floor, it was June and people were out late on the boardwalk, it was loud. Other times I've been OK with 3rd or higher. There are a handful of rooms right on the boardwalk on the 1st floor where the models used to be, I definitely want to avoid those.

Rooms were totally renovated 2 or 3 years ago and they have flat screens.

:thumbsup2 Awesome!! Thanks!

Called MS at 9:24 this morning to add 1 more night & had to waitlist it. :headache: I was hoping to be able to have 10 nights to play with next weekend when SW releases the rest of August. If it doesn't come thru by next weekend and I find a good price on flights for what we already have I guess we'll have to keep the first Sat. night in "Magic" season (I was hoping to drop that one & start on Sun 8/12 and run thru Tues 8/21 so that we could have our weekend points in the "Dream" season). Of course the CM offered to book a room someplace else but I am not interested in packing up to move for 1 or 2 nights. This is only the 2nd time we've waitlisted but I'm not going to hold my breath that it will come thru so quickly. Now the waiting game begins for flights.:goodvibes
