no luck at 7 months out

Called this morning at the 7 month mark to try to change from OKW, SSR and BCV to AKV ( my son really wants to stay there again). No luck getting even one 1 or 2 bedroom for the 5 nights 12/27-1/1. Was hoping to get everyone at the same resort but doesn't look like it will happen - I would have had to waitlist for every resort as there was no availability for the days we needed at any of them to even get a second room at one of them. Could have had a GV at AKV for the first night and last two but don't want to chance moving in the middle with a total of 14 or 15 people and would still need another room to fit everyone. I knew it would be a long shot but was hoping for at least one two BR villa at AKV. Am waitlisted for one for then so we will see. Looks like Christmas week will be as busy as ever despite the economy.

Party size is flexible was looking for a 2 bedroom or a studio for 12/27 - 1/1. I was even willing to jump around. Nothing available at all. Yikes. I guess the upside is, "Would i really want the last room if the place is going to be that crazy packed with people?" probably not. Oh Well.

I called on Saturday and booked a 2bdrm at Kidani through 12/29 with no problem. I guess I got very lucky. Yesterday I called back and changed the end of our stay from AKV to BLT. Maybe someone's wait list will come through since we cancelled AKV from 12/23-12/29.

Yes, it's a tough time of year. However, I'd sure keep checking back. A lot of people make reservations exactly at 9 AM the day their 11-month window opens, but a lot can change in 11 months...especially in this economy.

Both of my daughters have had great luck in getting waitlists fulfilled for that week...but of course they were just trying to get anything, not a specific type of unit at a specific resort.

Yes, it's a tough time of year. However, I'd sure keep checking back. A lot of people make reservations exactly at 9 AM the day their 11-month window opens, but a lot can change in 11 months...especially in this economy.

Your daughters may have had a more difficult time this year with the waitlist change since you can only have two active waitlists so they would have to pick two spots to try and get rooms. I'm butting up against that now in trying to change from a 1 BR to a 2 BR. I knew immediately when I saw this change that I didn't like it although I didn't expect it to affect me quite so quick! It also affected what room category I took (ded vs. non).

AKV is my home and I've been waitlisted on a Standard 2 bedroom at Kidani for NYE for months now. I got all my other days (Dec 26-31), but just the 31st to the 1st I've been waiting for. It filled REALLY fast.

Keep trying though, we still have a looooong wait!

I got lucky yesterday & was able to move my first 3 days, 12/27-12/29 from OKW to AKV studio savannah. Now just gotta call on Sat. to get on a wait list for the other 3 days. If not, at least we'll be there!!

It seems like it will be busy. Called today for 12/28 to 1/3 and was told there was nothing anywhere for the 30/31. Def. bummer. Put ourselves on two waitlists. Hope you guys are successful at finding rooms!

There are 2 studios and a two bedroom for Dec. 27, seven nights for rent over on the **************** site by nuthut.

At the 11 month mark I booked an AKV Kidani studio 12/20 through 1/2. I was able to change the first 9 nights to BLT this week, but not the last 4. Studios at the Beach Club and Boardwalk were also not available for those last four nights. I was hoping to find a resort within walking distance of Epcot or the MK for NYE.
