Next in today were some updates from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World on Sunday, Chrissy (Cree629).


She said, "Checking in with a couple of reports from yesterday. It was our first full day and we were in Magic Kingdom!"


"We stopped at Main Street Bakery in the morning for a snack and a latte, but I completely forgot to take pictures (sorry! I am new to this!). I will tell you that the Pumpkin Scone was amazing!"


"Later, we had lunch at the...





"I got the barbecue chicken flatbread."




"It was really good, and my mom (JoJo) and hubby were jealous!"



"JoJo got chicken fingers and fries (as did my daughter Sophie)."



"They said they were okay."



"Keith got the meatball sub and fries and said the sandwich wasn't very good."





"Lucy had the kids' pizza and did not eat very much of it."



"Overall, it was just an okay lunch, but we were starving, so it did the job!"





"Later in the afternoon, the girls were wanting a snack, and what's a first day in Disney World without a Mickey Ice Cream bar? We bought these at a cart outside the Haunted Mansion. Sophie had the ice cream sandwich...




...and Lucy and JoJo both got the classic ice cream bar."

"We have eaten here before, but last night I was more impressed with the food than usual! Everything was hot and fresh and we all definitely enjoyed ourselves. My first plate was sushi and potstickers."



"Both were very good. The sushi was very fresh and the potstickers were delicious."



"I also had a bowl of chicken gumbo."




"A little salty, but good!"



"The girls had chicken nuggets, tater tots, and bread and butter and were very happy with it."




"I don't remember all of what exactly we tried, but here are a few pictures of our plates!"










"The bread pudding dessert was my favorite! Keith loved the apple crisp, and JoJo really enjoyed the Key Lime tarts."

Kim said, "Thursday we decided to have some lunch snacking around World Showcase:


"1st stop Australia for a lamb chop..






"It was awesome and the mint pesto was soo good!"



"Then to Brazil for pork belly....







...perfectly cooked and everything went together nicely!"



"Then Mexico for a rib eye taco...







"It was good, not great."



"Back to China to try the silk ribbon because we all love coconut and we also wanted to try the Mongolian beef."






"Both were awesome! Good amount of spice on the beef, and the ice cream was like cold shaved coconut- so good!"



"Had to try the canto loopy as we passed... I think this may be my new fav World Showcase drink!"













"Joe got a small Darken as we walked by:








"Italy looked "bleh" to us but we decided to try the ravioli...






"Big portion... It was good but nothing special."



"Stopped by Florida Local again and made a Mickey with key lime wine and ceviche- yum!"

Hello everyone, I have been reading this thread for over a year and I am so excited to finally get to contribute.
Here is our cast me (JoAn), avid Disney planner and my daughters Rebecca and Mikail. This will be our 2nd girls trip and is much needed as we have had a rough year.

She said, "On Thursday we went to one of our favorites for dinner!!! It's always consistent and very good!"








"Joe had a Red Stag lemonade (which he said was very weak), and I had a white sangria which was yummy!!"





"Ribeye and lobster tail surf and turf all around- everything was so delicious and perfectly cooked!"









"We were stuffed, but love their desserts! I had the creme brûlée...




Mom had the angel food cake...




...and Joe had the almond crusted cheesecake."


"All fantastic but the cheesecake won!"






"Walking back through the Grand Floridian lobby we saw them getting setup for the gingerbread houses-- so pretty!"

"We had an 8 pm ADR and when we walked in to check in the restaurant was packed."

"We shared the Rhode Island Calamari...




...and the Prince Edward Island Mussels."





"The calamari was crisp and tender without being greasy. The mussels were the winner though. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came with was to die for. It was so flavorful we couldn't stop dipping our breads into it. DS thought the sauce was two thumbs up and told the waitress when she asked how our food was."



"This is where I forgot to take pictures of our main entrees. By the time I remembered, we were more than half way finished our dishes. I ordered the two pound Maine lobster and DCousin ordered the lobster tail with filet mignon. The lobster on both dishes were tender and not fish at all. They were great. The filet was ordered to medium and cooked perfectly with tenderness. DS and DNiece shared NY Strip medium and steak was well seasoned and cooked. Both kids thought the meal was excellent as well."


"I remembered to take the desserts picture! I had organic vanilla rooibos tea. It was nice to end the meal with something soothing."





"Kids and DCousin shared the Strawberry Shortcake...

"The food was good and service was excellent as well. We also watched HalloWishes from our table while eating our desserts."

"We settled down in the Rose Gallery because it was the brightest room of the three. They didn't give us the red rose and told us that they could find us with our Magic Bands."


"The kiddos shared the Croque Monsieur...





...and DS said that it's as good as the one he had in Paris."


"DCousin had the turkey sandwich...



"The turkey was carved, which is a plus. However, there was too much bread so she took the top off and ate it as an open sandwich."



"I had the braised pork and it was very tender and juicy."



"The mashed potatoes were only ok but the green beans were cooked al dente and had just the right amount of salt."



"We ordered three of their cupcakes and shared."












"All were moist and fluffy. Of the three, my favorite was the strawberry and DS's favorite was the Master's cupcake."


"It was a great experience with FP+ but I would not wait in the horrendous line."

She said, "After checking into Universal's Portofino Bay Hotel, we just relaxed. We looked around the pool area and took a nap."










"Our room was overlooking the beach pool which was very relaxing and pretty at night. We drove over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for our dinner at..."













"We were seated by the chef's table. Our waiter was very efficient and smooth all throughout our meal. He explained the menu well and his recommendations were good."





"The bread was so good with their spiced butter. DS loved it!"



"DS ordered the filet mignon medium and it was so tender."




"He emptied his plate and told our waiter that it was the best steak he had all week."



"DH and I both had the braised short ribs and it was very tender."




"We didn't need a knife at all. The red sauce to the side had fire spicy and went well with the meat. I actually really enjoyed eating it with the sauce. The whole dish was good and I cleaned the plate as well."










"DS ordered from the kids menu for his dessert."





"The marshmallows in the little cup were sickening sweet. But DS ate the rest of it."


"DH ordered the coffee creme brulee...





"It was ok. We shared ours and I wasn't a fan of it."



"I ordered the chocolate and tea safari."



"I did enjoy the green tea ice cream but didn't like the chocolate part. It was way too sweet. I think we didn't make good selections with our desserts but we still had a great meal at Jiko. They have solid entrees which matters to us most. We will definitely return."

Julie said, "We started our day with breakfast at...








"DD had a side order of scrambled eggs, and DH and I split the breakfast panini and the Bircher muesli."





"The panini was delicious and a nice change from a croissant sandwich - the bacon and pork was good and not too much meat (which I was afraid of!)."





"The muesli was a surprise hit - along with the muesli and milk, there were bananas, apples, blueberries, and strawberries. Light, yet filling. We really enjoyed this breakfast!"




Fountain View Cafe

"We stopped at Epcot's new Starbucks to grab DD a juice. I noticed that some holiday drinks were on the menu (peppermint mocha, and the new cherries jubilee mocha)...




... along with some holiday baked goods (cranberry bliss bar, peppermint cake pop)."




"We didn't try any, but they weren't on the Magic Kingdom menu the day before!

"DH grabbed a sausage with sauerkraut and a beer...




"He gets this every time we come!"



"DD and I headed to Morocco's...







...and got the falafel wrap (which came with couscous salad and lentil salad) and an extra side of couscous salad."








"The falafel was dry and just ok, but the sides were great. The lentils were in a vinaigrette, and the couscous had chickpeas, raisins, red onions, parsley, and red pepper in a light vinaigrette. I also had a Casa Moroccan beer."



"We had a relaxing lunch in the courtyard at Morocco. World Showcase was nice and quiet this afternoon after the busy last night of F&W the night before!"

She said "We just love the atmosphere there, and our server was great."



"DH and I had classic margaritas on the rocks with salt - no complaints there!"





"DD had the kids quesadilla which came with green beans and rice."



"She only ate the green beans - but I snuck a taste of the quesadilla, and it was just fine - she just wasn't all that hungry I guess!"



"I ordered 2 appetizers for my dinner - the Tiacoyas de Chilorio....



... and the Quesadillas Rebozadas."



"Both were good, but nothing amazing - the corn cakes were a bit dry, and the quesadillas had a heavy batter on them."




"DH had the carne asada, which he really enjoyed."



"He asked for a side of Mexican sour cream, and loved it!"

"It was already dark when we left at 6:15pm - it was a gorgeous evening in Epcot!"

"I had my first ever Grand Marnier slushie in France."




"Wow! This was sooo good! How have I missed this all these years!?"



"DD got a scoop of caramel fleur de del ice cream (no pic received) at...





"This was also amazing - we won't be leaving this trip without another stop for this flavor!!"​

Chrissy said, "I had the most delicious pumpkin squash soup."



"I think I will crave that soup when I get home!"



"I also got a vegetarian plate with pita bread, hummus, couscous, roasted red pepper puree, and tabouli, which was very good."






"Keith got the tuna noodle salad."



"It was so spicy that it made his nose run! He said he actually couldn't really even enjoy it because it was so spicy (and he isn't particularly sensitive to spicy foods!)."



"JoJo had the beet and goat cheese salad, which she loved." (no pic received)


"Sophie just wanted a couple of hard boiled eggs...





...and Lucy had her usual mac and cheese."

"So, there was no way I could walk through Germany without stopping here. The girls and I went in for a treat. I chose a milk chocolate caramel that was to die for."

"The girls both chose a milk chocolate and caramel covered marshmallow on a stick."

She said, "We met up with my cousin and his family here, and I wasn't great about remembering to take pictures of all of the many plates we all enjoyed, but here's what I have for pictures."


"I ordered and really enjoyed the beer flight."







"I think I enjoyed the food here more than JoJo and Keith, but overall it was a nice dinner. I particularly liked the spaetzle and the pork schnitzel. Sophie loved the roasted potatoes, while Lucy mainly ate the bologna from the cold sausage platter."


"Everyone's favorite dessert was the Bavarian cheese cake, although I also loved the rote gruetze with Vanilla Sauce."




"The girls had fun dancing, and I would definitely eat here again."​

Our First Update of the Day from yesterday was sent to us by a new reporter who arrived at Disney World on Tuesday, ginny_lynn.

She started her update by introducing herself and her group, since she didn't have a chance to do so before leaving on her trip.


"Traveling is Myself, my mom, and my Son Xzavier who is 7 but normally eats more then me. We are on the QSDP with some TS scheduled as well."

"Today was my boy's first flight and he was nervous, but loved every minute! Our last leg of our flight was only half full so hopefully that is a sign of things to come at the parks...at the airport Xzavier and I shared an egg and cheese bagel, it was blah but did the trick."





"After we arrived we checked into Pop Century and our CM excitedly told us after Thursday she would no longer have to give out KTTW. I am glad we arrived before the change! This seems to be a test starting at Pop. We then went and grabbed our mugs from the food court. I got the last purple in sight! And by this evening I was only seeing orange available, hopefully they restock for tomorrow."

"We then went to our room which was ready! Wahoo! Next we went back to eat, I have no pictures of this meal because my phone was down to 9% from playing games all day on the planes. We shared 2 QS meals and could not finish. I had the Make Your Own Tacos. This came with 4 tacos and house made chips. We got 2 made a different way since Xzavier is allergic to lettuce (not really but you should see the fit if a piece touches his food ). There are chicken, beef, or bean available and a variety of toppings. This also comes with house made chips. I loved these! They were yummy and a ton of food, neither of us finished our 2 let alone trying to eat 4. Mom had chicken nuggets that Xzavier also helped her eat. These will most likely be a common theme. For dessert we had our receipts stamped for ice cream. Last trip I did not find this until our last day so for anyone staying at Pop if you want ice cream have the cashier stamp your receipt and you will have 90 minutes to get your dessert. The station is located on the far left side of the food court and you walk around to the back of the last food counter. We got a sundae with 3 scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate chips along with a chocolate shake. Yummy and we couldn't finish!"


"Later we returned to the food court for supper. X and I got it boxed and took it back to the room, again we shared 2 credits and were more then full."





"I had the bacon Angus cheeseburger with fries."



"It was sufficient and did the trick."




"Xzavier and mom shared a chicken nugget meal. (They love these adult nuggets!)"



"Xzavier wanted Disney pizza and was disappointed to find pizza bread instead but was very happy with his nuggets."


"For dessert we each got an Oreo Cupcake. These are sitting in our working fridge."




"Which, as you can see, is getting full already. If we eat in the food court we fill our mugs and get bottled drinks we cannot get in our mugs. Xzavier drank his orange juice and we have 3 drinks waiting for us whenever we want them. Xzavier says the cupcakes are breakfast... We will see how that goes. Off to MK tomorrow and I promise to remember pictures of everything!"

The next update received yesterday was from mousegear, now reporting from the Universal Studios resort where she is staying at the Portofino Bay Hotel.








She said, "Next morning we got up early and DS wanted McDonald’s Breakfast Burritos which was only a 5 minute drive from Portofino. I didn’t take picture since everyone knows what McDonald's food look like."

"We went into IOA at 8am which is one of the perks of staying at Universal Resort. We went straight to Harry Potter to do Olivander’s Wand experience and WWHP. DH lost his stomach after the ride. I, on the other hand, took Dramamine after the breakfast and as dizzy as the ride was, I felt great which meant that I rode all the roller coasters with DS."








"WWHP was 10 minute wait this morning which means it’s basically how long it takes to walk through the castle."




"After some rides, DS wanted Frozen Butterbeer which we prefer to regular."



"It taste like butterscotch. With the Express Pass, we finished IOA by lunch time. I really wanted to visit either Mythos or Confisco’s but DS wanted another fast food: Burger King. So we got out and took a short walk to City Walk to Burger King."








"DS and I got each got Whopper Jr and DH got a Whopper. We got onions rings and fries to share."




"At least this meal was fast and we were back to our room by 1 pm. We relaxed and swam the afternoon."




"We were lazy that day and didn't want to leave the resort. We decided to get something to eat from one of the restaurants. After looking through menus, we decided to get something casual since we weren't dressed for a fancy meal like BICE."





"We decided to share Chicken Caesar Salad which is entree size."



"The chicken was well cooked and there was just the right amount of dressing. It was really good. There was the right amount for three of us to share as an appetizer."



"We also ordered a large Margherita Pizza."





"Unfortunately, this wasn't really good. DS barely ate his piece and I had two slices because I was hungry. DH usually finishes his plate and ours but after a few pieces, he gave up. We enjoyed looking at the sunset though and the live Opera performance while eating our meal."
