We are currently at wdw for a seven night trip with our children for their first time. Nearly every quick service meal does not have lids. And even upon asking, they don't have lids to give.

While I understand saving the environment, I am surrounded by things that are killing the environment at this park. Lids are definitely not the thing that has pushed it over the edge. But what it does mean is that we can drink a little bit of our drinks when we're eating our meal, and when we walk out, carrying the cups is very, very inconvenient.

I sure do hope this changes for people that come in the future. Quite disappointed.

While lids are helpful those disposable cups are still very prone to spills covered or not. So I think the idea is most people wanting fully transportable drinks bring their own sippy cups/containers anyway.

They haven't had lids in a LONG time. Don't see it happening any time soon. If you can't drink out of a cup without a lid, bring your own and dump the park drink into it.

We bring a refillable mug. Has lid and straw not needed. Yes, with kids that’s a lot of mugs. I’ve seen strollers with those hanging shoe bags attached to handle. Each pocket had a mug.

But I agree,if worried about environment, Disney would save a lot just shutting down.

Its been years at this point since they have had lids for drinks automatically.

I will say I just got back a few hours ago and was able to ask for a lid while ordering at several locations although this was mainly at resorts.

I think we used to have some reusable silicone ones - we each had our own color, so it helped identify whose drink was whose as well.

Something like these:

Hmm I may look into those.
Don't need it much but would definitely be nice especially when we ate at Capt Cook's and wanted a refill to bring to our room at CR. We did get lids there but forgot to when ordering and were told we had to wait in line again just to ask for 2 lids so that was a little annoying.

Comes down to options. There are other options available. Those cups are made for drinking at the location for the most part. If that doesn’t work for somebody, there’s always capped water/soda to buy or bring yourself, and reusable cups/mugs that are already very popular. WDW is generous in that you can bring outside food/drinks. Not true some other places.

The locations most likely to carry lids are quick service where people are bringing meals for the family back to the room. In the park, it’s a trickier thing to prevent guest disappointment. Lids give the impression transportable, but try giving those lidded cups to a family to carry around the park for an hour. Someone’s going to end up a mess.

I wish they sold in park Refillable mugs where you can buy one and then for the length of trip get refills for like a dollar. It would help reduce so much waste!
