Called to make an ADR at Le Celliers today. They were completely booked for EVERY SINGLE NIGHT of our trip from 9/6 until 9/15. A BIG :-(

Anybody have any suggestions? Does it help to keep calling incase someone cancels or is that just a dumb idea? My mom really really wants to eat there. We never have eaten there before and last time tried to get an ADR and didn't. I made an ADR for lunch, they had some of those, but we'd really really like to eat dinner there. It's ashame to have to do our first experience there on the lunch menu.

I think they save some tables for walk-ups - not many, though. We've had luck walking up at lunch time (really early lunch or really late) and been pretty lucky. You might try that. Dinner would be tougher, I think.

Don't count on getting a walk-up for dinner during free dining. I would keep checking back or book a late lunch. We did that on our last trip, had a 2:50 lunch ADR and had no wait to be seated and the restaurant was pretty quiet. This was in February, just before the start of President's Day weekend. We enjoyed a nice big lunch and then went to the Pirate party at MK that night were able to make it with just a snack dinner. I would definitely take a lunch ADR over not getting one at all.

I've been trying for about the same time frame... and ANYTHING for dinner....

no luck.

I switched to Yachtsman instead.

(but I'll keep trying LeCellier, just in case!)

You might try again today, like as soon as possible. I just saw a thread from another DISer, and Lord, if I knew how to link it in here I certainly would, but she says she is canceling a bunch of ADR's and looks like she had one for a party of 4 at LeCellier at 5:20pm on 9/6. Hopefully, it will work and you can get it.

Good Luck!

My husband and I wanted to try LeCellier for our September anniversary, but free dining filled up ADR's. So, the person on the phone at Disney Dining suggested Jiko. I am very excited about trying something so different. Have you thought of Jiko? It is 2 TS so maybe not for a family. Perfect for us I think! Good luck.

I'm not sure this is true. I have seen many walk-ups turned away even right when the restaurant opened for dinner

I just posted a thread last night that I canceled ADR's

I had Le Cellier for Sept 6th at 5:20 for a party of 4.

You can call and see if it is still available

Some people cancel at the last minute. Keep trying...even up until the afternoon of the day you want to eat there. Last May, I called during our midday break and a 5:20 was available that night!

Good Luck!!!

I did book a late lunch for the 12th, or 13th, so I know they had some availability as of yesterday. It is the same basic menu so you might think about that.

Just call everyday and don't give up. Something will open up, think positive!:wizard:

Also, don't know about this, but a CM at dining said that the "cancelled" reservations open up the next day at 7am, so trying first thing in the morning is the best strategy... at least, that's what she suggested!

There isn't a huge difference between lunch and dinner. I'd stick with the lunch ADR. It's better than not going.

Lunch is pretty comparable to dinner at LC, so if you were lucky enough to get a lunch ADR, that will give you almost the same experience.

IMO, LC is over-rated for steaks. We ate there and Kona's last year, and I'd tell you we all enjoyed the steaks at Kona more, and the atmosphere at Kona's is hands down more relaxing than Le Cellier. They could not cram another table in at LC, to the point you don't have any privacy for table conversation and feel like sardines jammed into a dining room. Kona is an open-air restaurant with more space between the tables.

If it's on your mom's Must Do list, I'd keep it, but if it's a nice steak dinner you're after, consider Kona's!

We've been twice for lunch at Le Cellier - two yrs ago with ADR, last year in May, we walked up when it first opened. Loved it both times!

marianas00 - We had dinner at Jiko's in May of 2005 for my birthday - it was wonderful - atmosphere, food, & service! My fav of all our WDW dining experiences thus far!

I just returned from The World. I had ADR's at Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine (Breakfast), Sci Fi Dine Inn, Coral Reef (Lunch), Le Cellier, Rain Forrest Cafe (Breakfast), Garden Grill, Cinderella Table (Lunch), and San Angel Inn. I was most excited about Le Cellier, and I have to say I was very disappointed.....I know that doesn't make you feel any better when you really want to experience something, but I really was not impressed. So if it doesn't work out to where you get it, just know.....it is a bit overrated. In fact.....not to rain on anyone's parade but I think many of the dining places are overrated. The one's I felt had the most hype behind them were the biggest disappointments!!!

Thank you all for the kind words. I have been gone and not had a chance to get online recently. I will be taking your guys advice and I hope that we can get a table for dinner.

it looked like (according to a menue on another disney site) that for lunch LC didn't serve prime rib or filet migon. Also, are the portions smaller for lunch?

Thanks so much guys!

I completely agree.

We had a good dinner at LeCellier the last trip, but it was comparable to the lunch we had there the year prior.

The steaks we had at Kona were perfect. Everything at Kona was PERFECT.
