New rule states no large tripods. Any recommendations for a small tripod? Where would you set up a small one for firework photos? The rule gives no measurements to define what large would be.

It's not a new rule. I plan to continue using what I have always used. If your show up with something that looks professional they might say something.

I just read a post on the theme park attraction section regarding an email on Updated Rules at WDW. The no large tripod rule is highlighted. I would hate for my husband to pack his Manfrotto tripod and not be able to use it. It takes up a lot of room.

Was just at Disney World earlier this month as part of a group of 20+ photographers, all with tripods, and we shot throughout Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We all staked out the fast-pass section of Illuminations Holiday show all along the back planters - 12-15 tripods all together, side by side. Tripods ranged from average sized ones to the biggest being a massive 7-foot-tall pro pod - that's without the center post extended!...even compacted it measured over 3 feet. None of us had any problems.
