No kids, no husbands & no rain! Girls weekend at BWI! - NEW 11/12 p16 -The End!

:welcome: Definitely didn't take a bus! There is no bus to DHS from BWI! It's by foot or by boat. ;)

Well then I have a 50/50 chance of being right.:thumbsup2 We stayed there last Nov and are heading there in a month and with me on an ECV I rolled everywhere possible. So for Epcot and the Studios we "walked" and for MK we cut thru Epcot and took the monorail. I didn't go to AK (and don't plan to this trip) so my only bus experience from BW is going to DTD. I forgot about the boat though :rolleyes1

I'm here. Sounds like a great arrival day!! I guess the snorer got up early also:eek:

5th floor with a great view!!:woohoo:

Wow no rain at all??? That is great:cool1:

I say you walked to DHS.

I'm here!!!

Goodness, those rooms are BEAUTIFUL! Seriously, beaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaautiful. Love those Mickeys on the light fixture too!!

I'm so glad you two enjoyed the BW. Isn't it just :cloud9:? And NO RAIN! WOOT!

I can answer your question, I know how to get to DHS!! :hyper:

 Yes - 50/50 chance! I wish we could have walked through Epcot to go to MK but Laura didn't have a park hopper so we had to deal with the buses for that trip! Not so fun!

Not a drop of rain at all! Can you believe it... after all my worrying! I knew I shouldn't have been looking at the weather forecasts, but I couldn't help myself. :rolleyes1

Here was the original touring plan for arrival day:

Thursday – DHS
• Arrival at MCO 10:20am
• Grab a snack at MCO?
• ME to BWI – arrive by 12:00
• Check in or store baggage
• Head to DHS – walk or boat (arrive around 1pm)
• Check for TSM FPs
• Great Movie Ride
• Backlot Tour
• Animation?
• Muppet Vision 3-D?
• 50s PTC at 4:35pm
• 5:45 Beauty & The Beast (or 2pm)
• Single Rider RnRC?
• Ride TSM before/after Fantasmic
• Get snacks
• Fantasmic - 8pm or 9:30pm
• Back to BWI

So far we were right on schedule (though we skipped the snack)! We had checked in at BWI & were headed to DHS.

We headed out to the front of BWI and spoke with one of the BWI CMs. Should we walk or boat? He told us where the walkway to DHS was, but said we would probably enjoy the boat more. We agreed and headed out to the boardwalk.

The boat was just pulling away! But I’d remembered reading that if you miss the boat you can walk to the Swolphin & catch it there.

As you can see from the pictures it was beautiful… when we landed at MCO it was quite cloudy, but it cleared up fast… I think the storm that had caused lots of rain the day before was just making its way out.

I wasn’t sure how long it would take the boat to get there so we walked a bit fast… I think I made Laura nervous that I’d be speed walking all weekend! Luckily the boat headed to the BC/YC first so we made it to the Swolphin with plenty of time to spare. When the boat arrived we boarded and were on our way to DHS! It was a really nice ride & fun to see BWI from the river.

We arrived at DHS & we were starving! We hadn’t eaten since breakfast – Starbucks bagels at the airport at 6am. It was approaching 1:00 & we needed food. Since the TSM FPs were gone, we headed right to Rosie’s for some lunch.

We both have small appetites, which worked out well for this trip. We split an order of 8 chicken nuggets & fries. We noticed A LOT of love bugs while we ate. Fortunately DHS was the only place that we saw too many of them. There were a few at Epcot & MK, but not nearly as bad as at DHS.

After lunch we headed to the Great Movie Ride – I thought it would be the perfect attraction for Laura’s first ride at DHS. There was NO line! We got the last two seats in the first “cart”. I figured we’d get the gangster, which I was kind of excited about since I usually get the cowboy for some reason.

We didn’t get the gangster! It was a cowgirl!

After TGMR we headed to see the 2:00 showing of Beauty & the Beast. We sat in the middle, right behind this control booth area.

There was a woman in there with some paperwork about Live Performance Annual Review. She was madly taking notes and photos. I hope she liked what she saw because we did! It was a fun show.

After Beauty & the Beast we headed toward the Muppets. On the way we made a little stop to take a picture with Walt:

Next stop was a bathroom break near the Jedi Training show. There were a ton of people watching the show, and apparently they all went to muppets as the show ended, while we were in the bathroom.

We skipped Muppets for now & decided to catch the Back Lot Tour. We walked through the Streets of America and stopped at HISTK because Laura wanted to take a peek.

Up next: Back Lot Tour & What time is dinner?

Joining along! Girls trips are always so much fun! :goodvibes

The Boardwalk looks gorgeous.. and that room is to die for!

Trip looks fun so far! I didn't realize they had to block so much off to set up the Osborne lights.. guess it makes sense but I never really thought about it before... Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day! I'm a little worried you're gonna miss your ADR by the way you wrote "What time is dinner"!?!?

Looks like a beautiful day for a boat ride!!

Great choice for Laura's first ride. We always get the gangster & my DH does not believe me that there is a cowboy!!:rotfl: (or cowgirl). I have to show him pictures to prove there is a cowboy.

Hopefully you did not miss your ADR on your first night:eek:

Joining in the fun. I would LOVE to take a girls' trip to WDW! :cloud9: The BWV are on my must try list and in the running for the second half of our DVC stay next December. Keep the great photos coming. :goodvibes

Isn't that little boat ride just lovely? It's a great way to travel!

Wonderful pictures from DHS - what a way to start the trip! If we ever sit behind the sound guys at Beauty and the Beast my DH would be watching them the entire time instead of the show! He's WAY into that stuff and runs it for church. Come to think of it - maybe that would be a good incentive to get him into the show again! He'd LOVE it!

I'm totally in!! Going back to catch up!! Girls Trip to BWI...I can so relate LOL!

Looked like a beautiful day! What was the temperature?

I've never seen a line like that for Muppets!

I was surprised to see so much Osborne lights prep going on... I know it takes them a long time to get it ready, but I figured they waited to put up the bigger things until right before the event started. :confused3

Ahhh yes... dinner... :rolleyes1

The boat ride was definitely relaxing! I really appreciated boat transportation after our experience with buses on Saturday! :headache:

I'm starting to think there isn't a gangster!

I'm trying to break a record and see how fast I can get a trip report finished so maybe you'll get to hear about dinner later today. :thumbsup2 With two other trips in the works, I don't want to drag this one out for too long.

:welcome: Glad you are enjoying the photos - I took sooo many and was afraid I might bore everyone. ;)

Keep BWV at the top of your to do list! :thumbsup2

My DH would be the same way. I caught myself trying to figure out what they were doing a few times.

Loved the boat rides! :cloud9:

I'm totally in!! Going back to catch up!! Girls Trip to BWI...I can so relate LOL!

:welcome: BWI was a GREAT place to stay for our girls weekend. I would take the kids there (if I could ever afford to go back) but it did have a more adult feel to it than POP or CBR did. The Wine & Dine half marathon was going on so that may have effected things, but we didn't see too many kids at the resort during our stay. We also only visited the pool once, early in the morning on our last day... maybe all the kids were there? :confused3
