no kids in photos

I have just spoken to our wedding co-ordinator, and it seams that the kids can't be in the epcot portrait session.(we are having a intimate wedding)
This is very annoying as there is only going to be us and our 2 children.
Does anyone know of a way around this as we were really hoping to include the kids in the photo shoot in wedding attire???

I doubt you'll get DFTW to bend on this. Their stance has always been the early morning shoots in Bridal attire are open to the bride and groom only.

You know Disney are fantastic at putting weddings together, but they have some pretty crazy policies that make you think ' but why?????'

Hope you manage to get around them. It would be important for me too to have my children in the picture.

You'll have the kids in their fancy dress in your wedding pictures. Is the portrait session the only reason you want to change your plans? You don't have to do the portrait session. You could do a family photo shoot in regular attire during park hours. It just seems like a rash decision if you have your heart set on WDW.

I agree! Don't change your plans. It looks like Disney has some weird rules about this kind of stuff... but don't let them ruin your dream wedding. You can maybe schedule a separate photo session for the kids? Or get a family member to take a group portrait of all of you just after the official photographer finishes taking your pictures. Don't give up!

We don't have kids but we went with Randy Chapman b/c of his wonderful photography. I've seen tons of kids in his pictures.

I'm not sure if this the reason, but as an ex-cast member, I think I might know why DFTW is saying no kids at the early morning Epcot photo shoot. I'm assuming that the photo shoot takes place before the parks regular opening hours? (If thats not the case, just disregard this)
Typically Disney will not allow kids (usually anyone under the age of 16) on the "backstage tours" because it will spoil the magic for the little one's if they see certain things (Mickey mouse body...human head...deeply traumatizing for a small child). Even if your kids are pre-teen or so, Disney will not bend the rules to allow kids (even those that know that Mickey isn't "real") access to backstage areas. Before the park opens there's often alot of...less than magical things happening, that Disney probably wants the least amount of people (especially children) exposed to.

I really hope you don't change your wedding plans because of this. Like the other posters have said, have a seperate photo shoot (in "regular" clothes) with your children another time. I understand how much you want to include you children (and that's a wonderful thing), but having some photos of just the 2 of you, will also give you some wonderful memories. I'm sure you will have plenty of photos in your wedding attire with your kids (dressed up, of course) from the actual wedding.

Are you specifically after an Epcot Bridal shoot? Otherwise there are other options.

You can have a family portrait photo session in one of the parks which would include your kids.

Or you can do a photoshoot at anyone of the resort locations - such as the beach by the wedding pavillion - that can be in your wedding attire and you should be allowed your kids on that.

I know DFTW rules state bridal shoots are bride and groom only, it is a shame but i wouldnt let it ruin your wedding plans.

It is frustrating not being able to have your children in the pics. We intend to get as many regular photos of our girls with the ceremony pics as possible so the our mk ones will be unique in the way it will just be us. ( if this makes sense!!)
We are fortunate enough to have family with us to look after the girls. If we didn't have a sitter we wouldn't be able to have a shoot either.
I hope you find a way to get what you want.

Thanks for all your advice, we were really disappointed that the kids can't be in it,so we've decided not to have the epcot photo shoot after all, and we are going to arrange something else instead that the kids can be involved in.

We had a photo shoot done at the MK. We swapped our photo package for a honeymoon shoot instead. I thought it was just for the bride & groom but My Mum, Dad and our children all had their pictures done too, it was fantastic. Pictures were lovely and presented in a white leather album with the castle on the front.

Have you looked on www.disneyweddings.com for your options of locations? You have to look under "ceremony" and then "photography" to find it.
