No Itinerary: Is it just me?

I do love to plan. We have done Disney both ways, I really went commando last year which parks which day and what order to do the rides and everything. Now however, I have a mutiny on my hands DD (7) and DH did not like commando, by the end of the week they both said they never wanted to hear the words Tour Guide Mike again, so next year we are going to be much more flexible. We will definently make a few ADR's and we all three agree on being at the parks when they open then taking an afternoon break. But I am not going to scheudle every hour of our vacation. But shh don't tell on me I have already signed back up for Tour Guide Mike even though my family ordered me not too, what they don't know will not hurt them and they may even appreciate it by the end of our vacation week. I was on the Dis Boards the other night and DD walked up and said "Your not on Tour Guide Mike are you?"

I was wondering as well if we are the only people who fly by the seats of our pants.

Living a couple of hours away, we may decide one morning to leave that afternoon for a trip. Not much time to plan there.

We visit WDW around 8 times a year. The only trips we 'plan' are for the F&W Festival and for MVMCP. Even with those two trips our planning consists of showing up for MVMCP when we are supposed to be there and at some time during the F&W trip hitting the festival. Otherwise we make it up as we go along.

Hmmm. I used TGM for both of our trips and I certainly wouldn't describe his philosophy as commando. I guess it depends on what you are comparing it to, but I found that he put a lot of emphasis on relaxing and not pushing things too hard or trying to fit too much in. Something he says all the time is that tired guests do not make happy guests. Or something to that effect.
My personal opinion is that using TGM's advice allowed us to do everything we wanted to do without long waits in line. And less time waiting in line meant we had a lot more time to just relax and enjoy the parks without having to rush.

Thank you all for not making me feel like such a "slacker" I am serious when I said I plan very little. Mk on the 1st day, and then from there we decide what we will do and where we will eat on a day by day basis. We will do counter service lunch and TS dinner, or a buffet "brunch" (last available seating) and CS dinner. We usually decide the next days park and meals the night before (after we return from the park of the day) and make ADRs then. We have never been turned down, and even if we were, so what? We have NEVER made park "touring plans" and I am not a "morning person" so between that and preparing children morning EMH never works out.
Now DH is a control freak, but being of a differnet culture Disney baffles him...so I can just "go with the flow!"

The only advanced planning Dh and I do is deciding which park to do which day. Other than that we just fly by the seat of our pants and always have a great time!!!

We never plan our day. We do whatever we are in the mood for everyday. This is why we always get park hopper tickets. However, we do make ADRs to the restaurants we know we want to eat at since we know we couldnt just walk right into them the day of.

The most we plan in advance is what parks we will do which day and we base that on the EVENING EMH. We both know we will never make it to a park opening, nevermind EMH before opening. Other than that, we take it day by day and thoughourly enjoy the vacation. My whole life, our family vacations have been planned right down to when we would take "bathroom breaks" (no, I'm NOT kidding) so it's nice to be able to do whatever I want to do and not feel like i'm rushing through something just to get to the next item on the list.

We are headed on our first trip to WDW  I Don't plan, I am spontaneous, I hate schedules (my bad! :sad2: ) but I have now spent hundreds of hours on this site and am going down fully armed with tips and info to make a correct spontaneous decision.
