No internet!!

Hi everyone,
I haven't had any internet for more than a week and it's killing me lol. I'm sneaking on the Dis at work but Facebook is blocked I had no idea how much I rely on the internet and I am bereft without it... It feels like cold turkey!

Yikes!!

We lost the internet for a couple of days last week and I thought that was bad enough! I didn't miss Facebook as I rarely go on it (my DDs felt differently though ) but I sure missed the DIS and a Sheltie forum I belong to. I was really cross when I finally got back online to find that next summer's flights to Paris had been released the day before luckily I still managed to get them at the lowest price - by the time I came home from work they'd nearly doubled.

I know the feeling, its one of the reasons I haven't moved into my new house yet as the phone & internet hadn't been installed till today. I wouldn't have managed without for that length of time.

We have had Internet outages over the week. Max speed were are getting is 0.04Mb...I cannot even open my gmail

when I moved into my new house I couldn't get my internet installed for a month! I had to invest in a dongle it was driving me so insane, but there's only so much you can do on one of those, I was going mad!!! I sympathise completely!

I would be lost without it. I was lost without my mobile when it went in for repair, wondered around shopping centre thinking what if someone is trying to ring me, school/nursery

BT have promised us an engineering visit on Wednesday so hopefully normal service will be resumed too

I can't cope without internet now. I am living out of a hotel at the moment and first thing I asked when checking in was about internet. Need my fix of Dis, FB and UK tv to tune in to.

Hope everyone having internet trouble gets sorted out soon.

The BT engineer was with us from 9.30 am until 4.30! We needed a new line. I was glad it was an external fault. If it's an internal fault the call-out charge is £130 alone. Hope you are sorted soon, Reid.

I remember when that was about the maximum you could hope for out of an internet connection

DW is manning the fort and I suspect she would not be pleased with this timeframe, but I will be glad if the engineer fixes it.
BT have tested the line and agreed that it is running slow so it will be a fight if they want to charge us

Dropped to 0.01Mb this morning But I remember those awful days on dial up and look forward to dropbox, evernote and gmail being back like old friends soon

Thankfully we are back online at full strength .... well as full as the proportion of 8Mb speed that we get.
Will be busy updating iTunes with app updates and podcasts.
