No, I'm Not Jealous...

I tried to tell this story to some people IRL, but no one else "gets" it. I know you guys will, so...



A little background: One of my in-laws is pretty petty. She's the jealous type and always has to have the last word.

Well, this Saturday we were meeting so she could take DS for a sleepover (that requires even more background, but we won't go into that now). She was telling me about her recent trip to Orlando for a conference, going on and on about how she just had to go to WDW because she had the most amazing view of Cinderella Castle from her hotel room.

OK, a little jealous because, well, who isn't a little envious when someone is on vacation, especially with a castle view room, right?

Jealousy put on hold when I find out she wasn't staying on site. I'd love to know what room I can get off-site and still have a great view of the castle.

She ended up going to MK and saw the castle up close and made no mention of it being a different castle than the one she could "see" from her room. I've never paid attention to the MT castle, but I'm guessing there are some subtle differences.

Maybe she saw the Tower of Terror! We could see that from a couple of different places we stayed (I think in Downtown Disney and of course the Dolphin) and the first trip, we had no idea what it was!

We stayed at the marriott next to sea world and I'm not kidding we could see the TOT. the space ship earth and space mountian from our room plus all of sea world. we had a corner room on a high floor. granted all of the disney places were hard to see but you knew what they were.

Hehe!! I normally would have called her out, but she and I are trying to get along for the sake of family harmony. I knew other DISers would get a kick out of it, though.

But would you really describe a little bit of the top as an "amazing view?" I'd imagine it would have to be a very, very, very tall hotel within a short distance.

If there was an off property hotel with an amazing castle view....dont' you think they would shout that from the roof tops and at least one person might have spread the word before?

Oh- I,ve seen the MT castle- they look nothing alike. Impossible to confuse them unless you are doing it on purpose or you've never seen Cinderella's.
