No idea what’s going on with my MDE account!

Hi,
I’ve found myself a bit confused! Ive spent the past year scrimping and scraping to get to Disney with my family, we’re due to go in October.

Things have been quite rubbish, my husband has borrowed money that was earmarked for our family holiday until it got to the point about 8 weeks ago when it looked like an impossibility to make it there.

It got to the point where I sat and figured out the only way we could have the balance of the holiday paid off, was to go to our travel agent, and remove our Disney tickets, and our Disney dining, to pay off the Disney tickets closer to the time of getting there and paying out of pocket for food whilst we’re away.

So the travel agent took these things off our booking, but I’ve just gone on MDE, and it’s saying that our tickets are still linked to the account, as is our Disney dining...., this is 8 weeks or so after taking these off our booking!

I’m halfway through paying for Disney tickets through ATD, and now I’m really scared that it won’t be removed from the Disney booking, but there will be a huge bill waiting for us when we get there and we will have ended up paying for Disney tickets twice and Disney dining even though we now intend on paying out of pocket.

It does say on our itinerary from the TA that we only have our flights and hotel with the Travel agency.

Can someone please advise?

I know I’m a bit over anxious but it’s been an uphill battle to get to the point where it feels like we’re actually going. I’ve been telling my daughter for 18 months we will be going, no matter what we will get there, I’ve literally had to save every penny spare to get there as our “holiday fund” has been squandered by my husband, at the rate things are going when we get back from Disney he will be moving out, because this is a regular cycle for him.... this trip is the one positive I feel like I have to look forward to and I’m just scared that I’ll get there and be forced to take the Dining and tickets and they’ll say “£2800 please as soon as I get there”.... and we will have two sets of Disney tickets and 0.00 to spend whilst there.

What I think happened is that your TA didn't give you an updated confirmation number for the updated trip (and/or forgot to update it with Disney). I'm not 100% sure if UK terms (that's a British pound symbol, right?) are the same as here in the states, so I may not be correct. Over on this side if I wanted to downgrade from a package to a room only, the I'd have to cancel the package and rebook as room only.

I'd contact the TA, if they don't answer your questions satisfactorily, contact someone at the agency.

Hi Sponica, yes sorry £s in there!
Our travel agency allowed us a flexi option which meant we paid an admin fee for taking the Disney tix and dining off our reservation,

So they’re definitely there? Think I may need to try and cancel the tickets I’m paying for to pay for the ones on my MDE then, bit confusing!

Thank you!

I think there's a UK travel board on here somewhere. They might be able to direct you better as to whether it's an issue with the TA or something with the UK terms and conditions. I know the ticketing policies are different over there and over here. Either way your first step is to contact someone at the agency and inquire as to why the original booking still appears.
