I just read a TR that indicated BBB doesnt have an ice machine...now granted the TR was from a year ago but is that true??? do I really have to bring ice from the drink station if I want it?:confused3

You can ask for Ice from your Room Host - they will be happy to provide that to you - they will keep it filled - believe me - they did it for me!

Yup. On the first day we ask our host to keep the bucket full and they do.

Do you mean the buffet on Deck 9....if so there was a drink dispenser at the end of the buffet line and it had ice......maybe it was out of order when the person wrote the trip report. I would not worry about not having ice at the buffet...just ask any CM and they will get you ice....but I remember glasses filled with ice at the end of the buffet line.

I also found that on our second sea day, Thursday, the ice machines at the Deck 9 drink station ran out of ice frequently! The Mickey Pool was full and the drink station was in constant use. By late afternoon, they couldn't seem to keep more than one ice dispenser working at a time! :confused3

We never even had to ASK! We simply had a soft-sided cooler sitting up in our room- and the first day we already had ice in it- and we had drinks in the bottom but on top of the ice we had a few chocolate milk (in tiny cartons) there (for little Rita at the time).
Stateroom host must have noticed it because the entire cruise she kept filling it up with ice AND little chocolate milks mysteriously appeared in there- every day! LOL
Now that's service when you don't even have to ask for it- they just notice you might want it and give it to you. yanno? LOL I think she had to have even been pouring out the melted ice/water..... because that never accumulated either. Totally rocks huh? LOL

aww thats the kind of stuff that makes me smile;)

There is no ice machine at BBB but the CMs do fill the glasses with ice for you. There will be a tray of glasses with ice in them right near the drink dispenser.

Your stateroom host/hostess can provide all the ice you need.

There was ice on the drink fountain at the end of the buffet (although they do have the cups of ice sitting out for your convenience.)

Was prob. me who wrote that as I am distressed when I don't get to have ICE with my ICED TEA.

In reference to BBB, no ice machine that I could find at the end of the line. Now there *is* a soda dispenser...no ice. And if they did put glasses of ice at the end - (this makes sense) they apparently don't do it at breakfast. I didn't eat there for Lunch or Dinner so I can't comment on that.
Walked around like a dum dum looking for it....finally gave up and walked outside to the drink station. Which is right there, so it's not a big deal. And after that I just made sure to get my tea outside before coming in to BBB.

As far as the drink station goes we did not suffer any issues with either flat soda or ice running out. There are about 4 separate stations, one always seemed to have what we needed. I did not like however when staff members staff the drink station...what a pain. The line gets long pretty fast. No idea what makes them do this, seemed random on our cruise....but I don't like it..:rolleyes1

I also like ice in all my drinks (even juice) and you are right about no ice at breakfast at the buffet but there is ice filled glasses during lunch and ice from the soda dispenser.

Usually, the only time DCL has staff manning the drink station is when they are fearful of the norovirus onboard. If a certain percentage of people come down ill they go into staffing the drink station. In 16 DCL cruises I have only seen the drink station manned 2 times.

They do not automatically do it at breakfast as most people don't like ice in their juice. I do, so I simply asked the CM that was filling the juice glasses if I could have ice in mine. It was no problem.
