"No, I Will Not Eat A Turkeys Leg!" -! UPDATED 8/5

BONUS: I FINALLY GOT MY LIFE TOGETHER AND FIGURED OUT HOW TO POST PICS! GET READY FOR PICS GALORE!
I put two up from our trip together in 2014!

Real Life Update.

I'm taking two three credit courses this summer, Pharmacology and Nursing Research. :charac2:
My bathrooms haven't been cleaned in three weeks. THREE WEEKS PEOPLE!! Between qualitative research critiques, NIH certifications and a 15 page case analysis I'm so ready for these classes to be D-O-N-E.

Luckily, I'll get a three week break before our trip to try to get my house/life in order. I just had a conference call today to schedule my clinical hours for the Fall (I need 300 hours total... and oh yeah, I'll be working full time. And taking two more three credit classes). Holy goodness if I have any earned time left after the fall semester I'm making a bee line for the Grand Floridian because I deserve it.

Ok back on track...
Let's talk about something positive... LIKE ONLY 71 DAYS TIL OUR TRIP! I guess 71 is kinda long, but hey it's almost 60, which is almost 45....

9/7 Plans
Now that I've been able to go 14 days without making dining changes, let's focus on what I've got up our sleeve for our third day of the trip!
Side note: I managed to call Disney yesterday and link up our flights for ME!! I like to space things out to help feel like I'm 'doing' stuff.

My plan for us on the 7th is to wake up around 8/8:30, shower and head out to the bus stop by 9:15/9:30, because we're hitting up The Wave for brunch. I love, love, love brunch. Love. This is new for both of us and I really like how we can walk to/from MK.

Depending on how much energy and what FP+ we have, we may either make our way to either Epcot or AK or if its super hot, we'll head back to the resort and pool it up. Then that evening we'll make our way to DH for our Fantasmic DP at Mama Melrose and then Fantasmic. I'm not loving this idea. IDK why, I just don't feel super excited about the FDP. I may end up changing this so we can spend the night at AK since it's open until 11.

9/8 Plans

I hope you guys are enjoying my PTR... feel free to comment and let m know you're here!
In my last post I left off feeling good about how I figured out how to post pics! I plan on going back and editing my previous posts to add some pics, so keep an eye out for that (i'll put it in the chapters for you!)

Anyway... moving on to my plans for us on our last full day. So sad - I can feel that PDD setting in and we haven't even left yet! hah!

Our plan is to spend the day at Epcot, assuming that we'll go to AK on 9/7. We'll likely sleep in, use a snack credit at the resort's food court and hang by the pool in the morning. Lunch might be QS at there resort as well, unless we decided to head over to Epcot for a late lunch, which is what I would want to do.

Ideally we'll eat said late lunch at
Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles or Sunshine Seasons. I've eaten at Sunshine Seasons many times and really enjoy it! Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles will be new for both of us but the menu looks fantastic!

Hopefully we can get FP+ for Soarin and then maybe, maybe Test Track. DH and I have an inside joke that Test Track doesn't even really exist, because overtime we've been at Epcot it's been closed or unable to get a FP :stir:

From what I've been reading, it looks like the new Frozen ride isn't going well? I hope its open, and that we can get FP but its certainly not a must do for us, although we'd both like to check it out! There's no way I'm waiting in a 5 hour line for anything though :drinking:

I'm off to work on a bunch of homework this weekend.... Boo. But I hope to update my PTR with must do snacks and QS, as well as FP + selections.

Heres a pic that I took on our departure day in 2014 at CSR, to help hold you over until the next post, haha! IMG_5398.JPG

Fast Pass Selections

Since my overall park and dining plans are done for our trip, I need to narrow down my FP+ selections since my 60 day mark is coming up on 7/6! Woot Woot! :thumbsup2

Question time.... it looks like MK FP+ selections are not tiered? Is that correct?

9/5
POTC
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Mickey's PhilharMagic

If I'm not able to get Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, I'll go for Haunted Mansion

9/6

Test Track
Spaceship Earth

The Seas with Nemo & Friends

I'm hoping to get these FP+ 8pm or later.

9/7
Kilamanjaro Safari
Kali River Rapids
Finding Nemo- The Musical!

9/8
Soarin'

All of the Group B options at Epcot that we want to do we'll do on 9/6 so I won't be requesting any of those.

Correct, Magic Kingdom fastpasses are not tiered.

I do not think that you will need a fastpass to Mickey's PhilharMagic. It's rarely busy and has a decent capacity theater. It is also unlikely that you will need your Group B fastpasses at EPCOT on 9/6, since the lines for those are very short after 8pm, but since you have those, you might as well make them.

Your daily plans look great!!

You are my new personal hero. The fact that it's ONLY been three weeks since you cleaned your bathroom with Summer courses + 15 page paper is amazering. ;)

What is your research on?

And yes. Total deserve it. Completely. Maybe a good time for a bounce back trip? :D

Yes! In Disney time though, it's not that long at all! It's about the second round for scouting reservations, last minute additions, pre-hauling... It will be here before you know it!
(And summer school will be ovvvah!)

My research is a group project (I loathe), it's a qualitative research where we use a survey to determine if nurses stigmatize patients with a h/o substance use. :magnify:

I agree, definitely a good time for a bounce back trip!! Officially in the 60s today... 69 days!

We get to make our FP's on the same day! Hopefully we both get a little pixie dust in getting exactly what we want :tink:

Yay!!! I'll be sending pixie dust your way:wizard:

Hi trip twin! I'm here :cutie:

My mom and I will be at Animal Kingdom on September 7th as well and spending the evening at DHS!! Your ADRs look great, when we stayed at the BC we did Cape May Cafe and loved it. Liberty Tree Tavern is also a family favorite (especially the ooey gooey toffee cake ::yes::)

Can't wait to follow along and count down together!

Hey girl, hey!!

Maybe we'll see each other?! You can follow me on insta (ahg611) and snap chat (ashleegoulette)! I try to stay away from constantly being on my phone while on vaca but I'll certainly be on social media some!!!

QS fantasies...
inspired by @Mollydolly334!

I've been catching up on @Mollydolly334's PTR and have truly been inspired to write my own "food fantasies". Hope she doesn't mind I'm borrowing her idea ;)

Here are my Top 5 QS choices, based on our plans and preferences!

Riverside Mill Food Court

Since we are staying at POR, it's given we'll be eating here once or twice. I'm about 98% sure we'll eat dinner here on arrival night and at least once for a QS lunch during our trip. If we were staying elsewhere it wouldn't be a must do, but this is new for both us (well since 2002 for me, 1995ish for DH) and we're pretty excited!

Pizzafari
DH and I are huuuuuge pizza lovers. But not "high end" or adventurous pizza eaters. Just the typical, all American, family run business pizza lovers. Although there isn't anything particularly "special" about Pizzafari's pizza it's Disney and pizza.. So yeah we're going to like it! DH has never eaten here, and the last time I went was in 2006- so definitely way overdue for a visit!

The last time I was there I remember how much I loved the theming and I'm sure DH will too!

Neither of the desserts scream out to me as a must have, so I'll likely go with the tiramisu. DH probably doesn't even know what chocolate mousse is. Lol.

Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles

Again another new one for us, and I'm making it a MUST DO!

DH and I loooove loooove French food. We're of French Canadian heritage, and while there is a clear different of the two types of cuisines, I feel like there some French inspiration in the Canadian dishes.

I digress.

We ate at Chefs de France during our trip in 2011 and fell in love. France is probably one of my favorite countries in WS. In fact I was shocked when I recently read somewhere that Impressions de France is lackluster. I just love it!
Anyway, I fully plan on ordering the Croque Monsieur with an eclair for dessert. Hoy yum!

I have no idea what what DH will get, he's not an adventurous eater (hence why LTT is his favorite...)

Sunshine Seasons
Again, I haven't been here for many years but loved it in the past! The only thing I don't love is how loud it can be and difficult to find a seat sometimes. Not that either of these would ever stop me eating here tho!

I'm hoping we can work a FP+ around a lunch time so we can eat here before or after... We'll see!

Yay! So pumped that you're using my idea :)

Those QS choices sound great! I've always wanted to try Les Halles at some point.

I stayed at POR in 2000 (back when it was still Dixie Landings)! I don't remember much though. I've heard great things about Boatwrights (POR's TS restaurant)!

I really should do a ptr myself, but I am having fun seeing everyone else's plans. So when I went for my sisters 40th we had to do French cause my sister loves all things French. To the point that her honeymoon was partially spent at Disney Paris. You are going to LOOOOOVE les halles!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up about PhilharMargic!! And the Group B selections in Epcot too, thats what I'm thinking... even it saves us, like, 3 minutes. lol.

YES DO A PTR!! #enabler #allthingsdisney

IMG_2957.JPG I hope everyone had a great Independence Day!

I've been somewhat quiet on here thanks to one of my research papers being return to me to re do. Really... 10 days until this research class is DONE.

DH and I also made a trek to see our family in northern NH this weekend, which was fun! I even got to talk about Disney a little with my MIL... at least I got to talk to her about the dog food we make for our little fluff ball that she'll be watching while we're away!

Funny story... we make our dog his food (salmon, rice, peas or chicken, rice, butternut squash). I was discussing this with my MIL and she was asking if its ok if our dog eats some of her dog's dry food or if she needs to keep him away from it (fyi- totally fine, our dog just likes his home made food better and we like knowing whats in his food). MIL seriously asked, "should I heat his food up or him?" and DH and I almost peed our pants laughing- we were like 'no! we're not that crazy'!. Thank we realized we actually are that crazy haha!

Anyway... tomorrow is our 60 day mark! Yay for FP+ and online check in!

I've been looking into POR room types since I haven't stayed there in so long and have decided I really, really want a room in the mansions. I've been scouring Touring Plan's room finder... I'm looking at room 8086 or something similar. I know the exact room is not guaranteed. The website recommends you request room similar to: 8068,8067,8069,8066,8070,8065 to get something in the same space. I'm going to try it but not stress about it.

For fun... here's a pic of our little furball who doesn't get his food warmed lol.

Yay for fastpasses tomorrow!!! I’m jealous; we have another 5+weeks until Fastpass Day. We just hit double digits today! I think that the next month will go by quickly though.

Your furball is so cute!!

Speaking of heating up dog food, my parent’s dog used to eat leftovers of whatever they had eaten that week mixed in with traditional dog food and they would heat it up for him. I would always worry when I was dog sitting, that it was too hot, but I wasn’t going to try the dog food to be sure! He never complained.

Now they will be dog sitting for us while we are at Disney and there is definitely going to be some spoiling going on. Since our dogs just eat dog food, they don’t heat it up, but they do serve them breakfast in bed. Our older dog tends to not want to eat when they feed him (his usual schedule has him eating about 4 hours later than they feed him, so he is not hungry yet). Therefore, in an effort to get him to eat, my dad will put the dog bowl in the bed with the dog and try to coax him into eating, before he has to leave for work.

My fp opens Friday. I'm soooo excited. I'm not sure how you can wait the next few hours. At least you can get up at a decent time I have to wake up at 4 am to get in at 7. I'm really trying to get the new frozen ride for my oldest girl.

You know asking if the dog wants his/her food heated is a totally legitimate question. I would have asked but the that's cause I did have a dog that I heated up her rice for her. If you think your mil and you are crazy now making homemade food for your dog wait until/if you have kids. Organic homemade baby food with cloth diapers. I see a future crunchy mom in the making.

AH, 4am?! Girl you will be one tired mama! I was able to get Frozen no problem, I'm sending some pixie dust your way!!

Haha you are totally right, it wasn't that far fetched!! I seriously make a word document to print for my MIL regarding his schedule #crazydoglady And you're totally right- DH and I WANT to cloth diaper our future babies :earboy2:

Cue magical music... FP+ ARE BOOKED!

Today is the long awaited 60 day mark! Any other normal Wednesday morning I would be able to sit at my dining table and book my FP+ choices before having to leave for work at 7:30am. However... what would be the fun of my plans working out the way I hoped them to?

DH's truck went into the shop on Tuesday morning and was going to be ready for him to pick up after work tomorrow. BUT... they did not have the part in stock.
(Side note: do they ever?) This meant I had to bring DH to work this morning since he doesn't have a vehicle right now. I also had to bring the dog to daycare (I wasn't kidding about the crazy dog lady hashtag). This meant we had to leave our house at 7am. Yes, the exact time FP+ opened for me.

Luckily, it took us 24 minutes to get to DH's work and I made him drive my car so I could sit in the passenger seat to use the MDE app! I was getting anxious about not getting all the choices I wanted and couldn't remember what our exact plans were. It was stressful, but I got them all booked as below and am super happy with my choices!

9/4/16- Arrival Day
No FP+ choices as our flight lands at 4:35pm and we aren't planning on going to a park this day

9/5/16
4pm-5pm Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
5pm-6pm POTC
8:30pm-9pm Haunted Mansion

9/6/16
1:45pm-2:45pm Frozen Ever After

9/7/16
5pm-6pm It's Tough to Be A Bug
6pm-7pm Kilamanjaro Safari
7pm-8pm Kali River Rapids

9/8/2016
5:40pm-6:40pm Soarin

AH, it'll be here before you know it! Yay for double digit disco! :dancer:

Thanks :) We're quite fond of him! haha!

What type of dog you have? I love how they get served breakfast in bed! Whats the point in having a pet if you don't spoil them, right?! I'm all about it.

So as my last 39 hours before my fastpass selection, why did you pick the fastpasses you did? Not sure I've mentioned I only went once to WDW so having to plan is a new experience for me. Dl same day walk up and get it in some ways is easier in others not so much. Having to decide on which park on which day and where to eat months in advance is INSANE!
