No FP or anything for 7DMT going down?

I was at MK yesterday and was frustrated by what happened at 7DMT. Had FPs for the ride (that I stayed up until midnight to get). We got in line. A few minutes later they announced the ride was down but would be back up in a few. So we waited. But a few minutes later they announced it was closed with no re opening time and everyone had to get out of line. So we get out of line and are sent on our way. Asked about replacement FP for 7DMT and answer was no. Asked about FP for another ride, still no. So they used one of my 3 precious FPs to stand in line and then be forced out and they won't give me anything to compensate? So not only could I not ride anything right then, but now if I want to ride 7DMT I will have to wait in the hour plus line even though I had FPs?!? Is it unreasonable of me that I feel like this was really crummy on their part?
 
Usually If the ride goes down before you get to the 2nd tapstile, you get an email offering you a single use good any time fastpass for a variety of attractions, including the one currently down. I'm sure websites have the lists - it is based on attractions (ie if you have a Philharmagic FP+ you wont get A&E as a replacement, just as an example)

If you happen to get past the 2nd tapstile/merge point the system considers your fastpass used and you're out of luck. Not sure why a CM didn't give you a yellow paper pixie dust FP but you can't count on those.
 
We were there today. Walked up to the FP line and were turned away because the ride was down for technical difficulties. CM explained i would receive an email for an anytime FP. Checked my email immediately and it was there. No problems when i returned hours later.

Not sure what happened with you yesterday but it sounds like there was a mix up some where.

Nope. No email, no yellow pass, nothing. Fortunately we've got FP for the ride for our last day, but I just thought this was poor on Disney's part.

I hope you complained to Guest Relations. That is very bad show on Disney's part and totally unacceptable to me. Not everyone had a smartphone or access to email in park. So now guests are expected to cast computers with them when they tour? Bad Disney. Where's your customer service?
 
Sounds like a mix up of some kind. Had you gone to guest services, I'm pretty sure they would've given you an additional fp+. Sorry that happened to you, it's frustrating I'm sure.
 
OP, you got hosed. I bet they would have helped you out in GR, but that unfortunately would have required crossing the park. They should have taken care of you right at the ride. I could see maybe letting it go under legacy FP, but when they limit you to 3 and you schedule them in advance, there definitely should be guest recovery for something like this.
 
I can't remember the exact "rules" but I remember something that if you were inside the building, they were giving return tickets. There was some cutoff. I think the issue is the ride goes down a lot (weather etc) and if they give everyone a return ticket it would probably just make the FP wait so long there would be no point.
 
Complain to guest relations and they may give you an additional "uninventoried" FP. I got some when all of my FP's got kicked out of the system on arrival day and I spoke with someone else who was given two additional FPs after a bad experience with a CM.
