Does anyone know if any of the dining locations on the ship are still open while the ship is docked at CC? When we were on Castaway Cay last time, we were on the island the entire day, and I never thought twice about it, but my brother, who will be a first time Disney Cruiser this year with us, said he heard from someone today that none of the ship's dining locations are open while the ship is at Castaway. Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!

Cabana and the quick service locations on the pool deck will be open. Room service will also be available. However, the formal dining room Will not serve a sit down lunch that day.

Yeah I agree (Probably b/c I'm not in a situation to complain). However I can possibly see this as an issue for SOME people.

You will NEVER go hungry on a cruise. Disney is no different there.

It is true that Cabanas is open on board the ship as are the pool deck dining options. I have been on the island and talking with one of the folks at Cookies BBQ, they were actually pulling people from Cookies to go work Cabanas because so many people were still on the ship!

Wow! Was it bad weather that day? Or just a lot of newbies who didn't realize there was food on the island?

It was the second day of a double dip and it was noticeably hotter on the island due to a lack of breeze. I also think everyone was trying to check out the ship updates from Dry Dock.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

The only time I ever did a sit down lunch was on a Castaway Cay day. I guess the best advice would be to check your navigator once on board, because apparently it differs depending on the cruise.
