NO Flash photography!! A Mom and Daughter(s) TR Sep 20010 update 12/6 link to PTR

Sun Sep 19th cont'd

We were the only ones on the bus on the way back to CSR. The driver asked us if we had been to the pool yet. She said she heard it was pretty cool. The girls let her know we were on our way there now.

We exited the bus and made our way to the room. Upon entering I noticed that Mouse Keeping had not yet been there. It was close to 130p so I was a little surprised. I knew it was Sun and lots of people were probably checking out/in. I figured they would come while we were at the pool. We grabbed our mugs and headed to the Dig Site.

The walk over was not to bad. As we entered the pool area Kathy waved us over. There was another nice Dis'er there-I am sorry I don't remember her name. Kathy and Mark had brought the girls bags FILLED with fun stuff. it was very sweet of them. Cayley hopped right up on kathy to check out her "loot" Avery was a little more reserved. I went and filled our mugs and ordered a little lunch. After having a bite or 2 the girls were ready to get in the pool with Mr Mark. Off they went. Cayley tried to bring her mug but was sent back to the table. She then said, " No food, no drinks and NO flash photography" This is where I got the title of the TR. And this was not the last time she said this... I then got to chat with Kathy. I knew within minutes that she was just as cool in person as she is on here We have similar outgoing personalities. I liked her right away We chatted and then realized that the girls and Mark were not to be seen. We wandered over to the pool and found them by the non working slide. Soon though, it was up and running and Kathy voluntered to take them down. I reccomended that Cayley go in the middle. There was an incident at CBR last year when I had to climb down the slide to get her when she refused to go any further :scared1: All was well and everyone enjoyed the slide. We all then swam around a little.

Around 4 or so we all decided to head back to the rooms for some down time. The girls were very excited to be going to MK with them that evening. Back to the room we went. Still no Mousekeeping :confused3 I put the "do not disturb" sign on the door and Cayley took a rest. Avery did some reading. Around 530p I noticed our phone light was flashing. It was a message from Mousekeeping saying they respected our sign and let them know if we needed anything. That was nice but after 5p seemed a little long to wait.

We then headed over to get some dinner and buy Cayley a new autograph book. The sunscreen had leaked on hers. . Grabbed some food from the grab in go and sat outside. Waved to Kathy and Mark who were meeting woth Sophia and Joe. They came over as we finished up and we headed over to the MK

This was the first time we had driven to a park. I had no idea you parked at the T&T Center and rode over. Guess I am used to DL where you park in front. I took a cute pic of everyone waiting on the monorail. I had to go through bad check with my "stuff" and then we were off. First a pic

Wishes was awesome as always. We then went to ride the BTMR. It was almost a walk on. I think that train goes faster at night!! Much screaming was heard! We then ventured over to Pooh. Man that line was long. For it being EMH it was busy! We then saw Mickey's Phil Magic-love this. Mark, Cayley and I then took a ride on the carousel.

Mom, he is picking on me....

We then tried to ride SM but the wait was over an hour!!! Treats were needed and enjoyed all around. Then it was off the the TTA-PeopleMover. Love this ride-so fun. this is where Avery started to fade. And fade fast. She never gets cranky from lack of sleep, just crashes. Kathy ended up carrying her off the rise. Cayley-my night owl and I took a quick spin on Buzz and then we started making our way to the exit. It was a fun night and we were so happy to spend it with our new friends. Off to the tram we went where Cayley through a mini fit because I was not sitting by her. Kathy saved the day by showing her pics from her camera they dropped us off back at the room. Everyone was asleep fast after a fun night!!

Up next-just how long will we wait for a DHS bus.......

I didn't realize that I had missed a prior update until I got an email about this one.

I think it's so cute that you bounced on the bed to wake the girls up. John does that to Hunter. Where else can a parent get away with that?

If you do get a chance to do the Behind the Seeds tour, do it. It's a nice walking tour that everybody will enjoy...even the girls. They gave the kids little jars that contained lady bugs that they got to release about halfway into the tour. We've done it twice and it while it was educational, it wasn't boring.

Yay for two Dis Meets! It's so nice putting a face to a name. Well, I know that we've already seen everybody's pictures but you know what I mean. I was glad to read that you got to spend time with both Queen and Kathy.

Ummm, what was up with mousekeeping not coming to your room and it being after 5? That's a little late to me. But, like you said, it was probaby busy since most people check out on Sunday.

Mary, great update. I LOVE the picture of Cayley on the Merry-Go-Round and WHO IS THAT BIG MEANIE making bunny ears behind her head??? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We can't say it enough...we had so much fun with you guys. I shipped a small box to you guys today for the girls.

I'm sorry about Mousekeeping...that is odd as they were usually done with our room by the time we came back from the parks and a swim at 1 p.m. You sure had your problems with CSR which totally upsets me as you know.

Hi Mary,
I am popping in since I see your siggy on all the threads I seem to frequent it only seemed fair to pop over and say hello. Your girls are absolutely precious. And so well-behaved. How old? I must have missed that. I cannot fathom going to WDW without the help of DH (amd some grandparents as back-ups!)
We will be at CSR in May and so I am dreading hearing any more bad stuff BUT I know that kinda stuff can happen anywhere. Our worst stay was at a deluxe (and even then it was still really great). Plus, as a family of 5 this will be our only chance to stay at CSR (youngest will be 20 months) so if it is terrible we will never have to do it again. But I am confident it will be great. It seems like the bad experiences are flukes. Just sorry yours was one of them!! :headache:

Mom, he is picking on me....

It was a fun night and we were so happy to spend it with our new friends.

Isn't it nice to meet and hang out with new DIS friends and just feel so at ease? :thumbsup2 We had three DIS meets on this short trip, and every person and their families were just so very down-to-earth and fun to talk to. :) I know Kathy and Mark enjoyed being with your girls, and I'm sure the girls adored the special attention, not to mention to goodies. We felt the same way when we hung out with Wigd and Shocker.

Thanks for sharing your fun with us.

sorry about the room!!! We had the same problem when we stayed at YC in Aug. It was a Sunday as well and it was after 5pm when we had our service. We were CL so it ended up being the daily cleaning/turndown service all in one. My friend who works at CSR, said that that day they had a bunch of check in/out and sometimes it just takes that long :(

Looks like a good night at MK!!!

Huh?? No Mousekeeping until after 5:00?? That's weird! But nice of them to leave a message to make sure you knew you were welcome to call them.

I don't think I've ever seen a non-cute picture of your girls!

Hi Mary!!
Great update! So fun that you got to meet some new friends and it sounds like you had a great time together too!! I sure do hope that I am going to meet you and your family for our 5K run in October 2011!

We had some issues wth Mousekeeping when we stayed at POFQ. I remember they never came to clean the room until we were back in it for our mid day nap around 3 everyday.... one day I had the privacy sign up and I had JUST gotten a VERY cranky tired kid to sleep and they called us to see when they could clean the room and the phone woke everyone up!:rolleyes1

Well that's very disappointing about Mousekeeping. You just had one thing after another didn't you? :sad2:

It sounds like you had a great night with Kathy and Mark, they look like they'd be so much fun to hang out with!

Thanks for checking in! Gotta take advantage when you can :) Thanks for the info on the Behind the Seeds tour-think we will book it in Dec! It was great to meet both of them. it was kinda a pain but not a huge deal.

I think they are both :cutie: You are very sweet to mail them something! I know it upsets you. I was really hoping for a better experience. It was not that each thing was that terrible-just the number of things...

If I didn't read this the correct way, Mary, I would think you were saying it was "kind a pain but not a huge deal" meeting them (meaning us). :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks so much. I have been lurking on your PTR. Our first 2 Disney trips were in late May. I am also a fan of Dave Ramsey. Avery is 6.5 and Cayley is 4. Your kids are also super cute. It was a combonation of not so great circumstances that made our stay frustrating. We own DVC so will probably just stay that way from now on. I do have 2 nights at POP booked for Dec. I am sure your time there will be great!

It is, I can't wait for the day our trips will overlap!! They spoiled them for sure!! We hope to meet up with Wigd and Shocker in Dec. You are very welcome :)

Hey you, congrats on the job offer(s) :) You are one step closer now!! I know they have lots of rooms to do but when you need new towels..... I am glad they just sent the message.
