I will be visiting Disneyland in April and I have heard rumors that Fantasmic will not be showing... Any idea if this is true?

I had promised my kids we would do the premium viewing (we are from Australia so it's a once in a lifetime thing). If there is no Fantasmic is there something similar, another premium viewing perhaps? They were really looking forward to their dessert boxes...

Thanks for your help

I believe the weekend of March 28th is the last show. There are rumors it is going down for refurb until summer. That's a bummer!! The fireworks is awesome....we like being in the hub right up by the castle to actually feel the heat from the fire & down by the flag pole on Main Street looking towards the castle. It is a beautiful show....maybe that will make up for Fantasmic.

Oh crikey I know how you feel:upsidedow We had our "once in a lifetime" trip last Feb 08 and IASW and Jungle River cruise were closed and Fantasmic wasn't showing.
We still found plenty to do and had a ball, so much so we are coming over again in September. So moral to the story, don't ever think you may not come back, as the Disneyland bug will get you and you will find a way to relive the magic :cool1:

Unfortunately this is true. The show is being upgraded until late May. You are in the same boat as many people who have been wondering. If you can, I'd advise to consider taking another trip back in a few years, after the DCA refurb. Don't miss out on the fireworks, though.

I know it's terrible.... We are visiting over Easter in April and the calendar (disneyland)doesn't even show fantasmic! We too were planning the dessert box seating. Everyone is bummed out.

March 28 is the last showing until the refurbishments are done.

We added a night at the airport hotel the night before our vacation (we will spend our first day at Disney on March 28) so we will be able to stay up late and not miss Fantasmic.

It's just one of those things that can happen when you visit the park outside of the summertime/busy crowd season. They need to get it refurbed and ready for summer. I believe they would have had it down in feb or so but since they are repaving mainstreet and no fireworks they needed something to try to compensate. As much as I love F! I would much much rather see the amazing fireworks! Dont miss those! :) Perhaps you can visit the sweet shops and grab your dessert box things you'd like and kinda make your own and then grab a great viewing spot for RDCT! GL :)

Making your own is actually a good idea. You could get a bunch of treats at the bakery and stake out a good spot for the fireworks - they are amazing!

Does anyone know exactly when in May it will be back up? I'm presuming Memorial Day weekend, that would seem to make the most sense...

Oh thats soooo pants!! we are staying in a room at the hotel with disney view just for the fireworks!! how do I tell the children?????
