We will arrive on May 21 and will be at VGC until the morning of the 28th, and based upon the events I see scheduled on the official Disney site, there will not be a Fantasmic showing on any night we are there. Bummer... I am surprised there is nothing on the weekend that we arrive.

I think Fantasmic is part of the "Summer Nightastic", which begins on June 11th.

The ROA is under refurb and Fantasmic is scheduled to start June 6.

We'll be there from May 22 - May 30 and according to the Disneyland calendar, Fantasmic begins again on Friday, May 28.

I'm sorry you won't have the opportunity to see Fantasmic, but in my world that is a really great reason to start planning another trip right away. :)

We check in on the 22nd and leave on the 30th at the VGC too! I was saving for the dessert package, and when I called, the CM said to call back on April 27th, since they have nothing even in their computers for it at all. She said it should be there 30 days out. There's always hope, right? If not, that $250 can buy more souvenirs I guess....

Maybe we will run into one another while there. :goodvibes This will be our second trip, but the first one was a washout with torrential rain and getting sick, so this will really be like the first time for us and I am excited to finally experience the magic of Walking in Walt's footsteps. :woohoo:

I see you're a WDW vet too! This is our first DL trip, and we thought we'd try DL since we live on this coast now. So we have high expectations.... but we know it's not going to be the same. We're also doing an Angels game and Knotts. Are you guys doing anything besides DL?

Hi, I talked to a friend of mine who performs in Fantasmic and was told that Fantasmic starts June 11th. I wanted to check myself because last year we too traveled May 28th-June 3rd and no Fantasmic, we wanted to make sure we get it for the little one this year.

Well, the "excuse" for our trip is that our son and his new bride now live about 30 minutes from DL. We are flying in on Friday night and spending two nights with them and then on Sunday we are checking into GVC and will be there until the following Friday morning. We will then go back and spend Fri and Sat with them before catching a red-eye home on Sunday night. Since we are purchasing an AP, we plan to spend that week at DL, enjoy Food and Wine and really take our time in experiencing DL, CA and the resort. No outside trips this time as we feel we will have lots of opportunities to do those things in the future. I eventually want to do all of the touristy things that one must do. :goodvibes

We have a one-bedroom for Sun and Mon and are waitlist for the rest of the week, but I am not expecting anything to come thru at this point. I am thinking that I am going to have to break down and buy some GVC points before they are all gone in my Use Year. Isn't that such a shame. ;)

And yes, we are serious WDW vets, which makes it very disconcerting to walk into DL, have it look very familiar, but yet, there is no Caseys at the end of main street and no Philharmagic after you go thru the castle, etc. And the worst thing was having to look at a map to figure out where I was going. and I thought I was prepared for the castle to be small, but I have to tell you that Cinderella definitely got the better end of the deal there, although Sleeping Beauty's castle is very, very pretty.

We check out that morning, so now I wonder if we wish to hang around for that or just catch it next time. I have heard it is so much better than the one at WDW, and I enjoy that one. I dunno, going to havae to play it by ear, I guess.

In 2009 Fantasmic was down until ealry June because of a major refurb to the show which included adding the tempermental animatronic dragon Murphy. This year Fantasmic is down for an entirely different reason. They are doing a major refurb on the Rivers of America. Normally F! is open in the spring - just not the last two years.

I had printed off those operating hours and saw that. I wonder, do DL's hours ever change after they are posted like WDW's do? Just hoping that maybe it might start back up a day or so earlier than the post date. :goodvibes

We're flying down Friday and spending the night by LAX and then heading to DL Saturday morning. We check out the next Sunday and head to Long Beach to do a Carnival cruise to Mexico. Our thinking was it costs so darn much to fly out of here, that while we're there, we might as well. And being we own the points, all I had to pay for was food and tickets. So it really wasn't an expensive vacation. We have a one bedroom too.Gotta love DVC.

Hopefully your waitlist comes through for you! I've been waitlisted at Vero before, and the CM said it would probably have a hard time coming through since it's so popular there, but it did. So here's some pixie dust coming your way!

We've never been to DL before, so we're excited. We're military, and found out we're moving in October to TAMPA!! I'm so excited I could burst. This may be the only time we're able to go to DL because we're on this coast. So, if Fantasmic doesn't go off while we're there, I guess I can use the money to buy a Disney Dooney! Or put that money towards AP's for WDW.

Just wanted to let you know I booked the Fantasmic dessert package for May 28th!!!! I called this morning and was offered the choice of 9 oclock or 10:30 pm. So you should be able to see it while you're there!!!

Just passing it on!

I called the folks at Vacation Planning yesterday to see about booking for Saturday, May 29, and I was told that Fantasmic was not showing in May. I suggested she check her schedule for May 28 and May 29 and was she ever surprised. She then gave me a choice of 9 or 10:30, and we took the 9:00.

Sorry we will miss you by one day, but Saturday will work out better for my son and his bride who live in the area.

I do hope we run into one another during our stay that week at the VGC. :goodvibes

Well, the reason I did Friday was so we'd have a chance at seeing it. I was cautioned by the CM saying that there was a chance it wouldn't open on Friday in case they find glitches or something. We're checking out on Sunday, so if Friday is a no go, we can try and make it on Saturday night.

We'll definitely need to hook up! :cheer2:
