I'm attempting to convince DH to go to DL, prior to our cruise from SD. We've never been, & I was really excited about the possibility. Then, I started doing more research. Unfortunately, my excitement has waned a bit. :( We would be there Apr. 5th & 6th (Wed. & Thurs.). It looks like Blue Bayou will be closed then. Also, it sounds as if there's no Fantasmic those days. Two of the things I was most looking forward to were dinner at BB, & the Fantasmic dessert buffet. Yes, we plan all our vacations around food. :rotfl: Is it true that neither of these will be available then? If not, does anyone have suggestions for equivalent replacements. We enjoy the rides, but like to have something special planned for the evenings. Thanks in advance. :)

Edited to correct days.

April 5th and 6th is a wednesday and Thursday. Is there anyway you can stay until the 7th?? You will be able to catch fantasmic and the electrial parade is coming back that day as well! Fantasmic in the off season normally only plays on the weekends looks like you will be able to catch the fireworks though, which currenly aren't playing on the weekdays put look to be according to the schedule when you are there.

Honestly in all of my trips to DL I have eaten at BB once! We have never waited for fantasmic more than 20 minutes, and have only watched it 3 times. At WDW we have only watched it once!So obviously my personal take would be that these two things would be trivial to my trip planning.

Oops! You're right! I had the correct date, but wrong days on my itinerary. Unfortunately, our cruise starts on the 7th, or we would have stayed the extra day. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

We wanted to eat at BB for the atmosphere more than anything else. I like Fantasmic @ MGM, but missing it wouldn't be a huge dissapointment. I'm more interested in the special seating & dessert buffet. :teeth: We like doing the little extras that make the experience unique. (Things that aren't included w/ general park admission.)

Try one of the tours. Some of them have special seatings for shows and even lunch served up in the Disney Gallery. I enjoyed the tours I have been on a lot. The lunch is not anything special, but eating it in a roped off area up in the gallery was nice. I also think Napa Rose would be a nice equivlent (way better) than Blue Bayou.

We love the atmosphere at Blue Bayou, but only LIKE the food. Fantasmic is wonderful, but I wouldn't skip DL just because it wasn't going to be there. We plan around food a lot too and there's lots of other great places. If you're really into shows, Aladdin at DCA is really wonderful and last I knew had showings mid-week.
