My family will be going to DW 3-4 times in the next two years. Each trip will be about 3-4 days. I don't think more than two of the trips will be in one year. I am considering getting a 10 day pass w/the no expiration option. This seems to be a lot cheaper than getting 3/4 day passes each time.

I need the opinion of all you experienced DW vacationers please.

Although the non-expiration pass is expensive, it is cheaper than 3 - 3day passes with an expiration. I doubt disney is going to lower the price of tickets in the next couple of years. I would go for the non-expiring 10 day pass now.

I'm getting the 10 day no exp hoppers for my DDs for our Dec trip, although we will only use 3 days on them. The way I look at it, the price per day is MUCH better, WDW tix always go up over time, and it's the perfect excuse to start planning the next trip!

We always bought the longest park hoppers we could and then used them next trip.Amazing how much we saved per day, after price increases, and the new tickets look even better, My prob is - Do we pay to add park hopping? be a few years before i run out of the old ones to worry about that.

You might want to look into an annual pass if these 2 trips will be within a year. It may be cheaper than the 10 day pass w/out expiration. With the annual pass there are always lots of other deals on food and lodging, too. Just an idea for you to look at! Kathy :earsgirl:

we are going to get the 10 day hopper not expire also... we usually go to another park inthe evening after ak or mk...only problem with an ap( other than expense) is it expires...we might get one for daughter if the resort ap rates are good and no good offers since she and bf can fly free and could go again. i wish for our trip 2 yrs ago we had gotten 1 ap and 1 of longest we could get since we got 2 aps and never got back...we saved enough on rates to pay the extra on one but not all of the second.imo the "perks except the resort rates didn't really add up...and at wdw only saved us 5 a night but at vero saved us 70 a night

I figured it would be a no-brainer to get the 10d non-expiring passes for my upcoming trip, until I crunched the numbers on it. The non-expiring option is a lot more expensive than I had initially realized--adding around $100, if I remember rightly, to each pass.

I would agree that it makes sense to analyze whether you would go enough in 1 year to buy an annual pass for slightly more, or whether you don't go all that often, in which case it might make more sense to buy the tickets as you go. I ended up getting the expiring kind, and if I need to, I'll just add on the extra days and the non-expiring option when I get there...

A few obscure exceptions disfavoring the 10 day non-expiring ticket:

1. 9, 10, and usually 8 day vacations are better done completely with one expiring ticket (unless you have an annual pass).

2. After you buy one 10 day ticket with hopping, you can't buy more than three additional days without exceeding the cost of an annual pass. But you can buy two expiring 10 day non-hopping tickets for less than the cost of one annual pass.

3. If your next vacation is 5 to 8 days and you buy and start using another shorter pass after finishing up the previous 10 day non-expiration, you will lose your savings.
