I am going in May and planning on buying the Magic your way w/ dining and 7 day tickets w/ no exp. How does the no exp. tickets work? When I go back the following year will I have two sets of room keys (tickets) or will my old tickets be combined with the new tickets on my new room key? My plan was to only have to buy a 1 day pass the following year so I can buy the dining package, but I do not want to have to carry around the previous years room key.

I'm pretty sure that they can transfer the remaining days over to the new passes.

Last year, we had old park hoppers on old hotel room keys. We didn't have enough days for our stay. They didn't let us put the old hoppers on the new room keys. And then we bought the new hoppers after we had checked in, and we couldn't get those put on our new room keys either. So basically, we were carrying our old room keys with the old hoppers, our new room keys to get in the room, and new paper hoppers. Very confusing. We asked a few times, but it was always the same answer.

Not sure if anything is different now with MYW.

One of the points you raise is pretty interesting though. Lots of people are buying MYW with no expire for future trips, which in the abstract makes alot of sense. One wrinkle that doesn't tend to get factored in, though, is whether you'll be wanting to buy a package on your next trip that includes park tickets.
