No-expiration option? (And waterpark tickets question too)

I just noticed today that I can buy 3 day park hopper tickets for my family for $900+, but can buy 10 day park hopper tickets with no expiration for around $1500. If I'm willing to buy several trips worth of tickets at once, I can save lots of money (and avoid ticket price increases as well).

Am I missing any gotchas with this strategy? Any reason you can think of to not do this?

Also - is the only way to get waterpark tickets with the MYW plus options? Or can those be bought separately? And if so, do you know the prices?

Thanks!

There are no hidden "gotchas" with MYW. The point of the plan is that the more days you buy, the cheaper per day it becomes. If you know you're going back, I'd buy the 10-day tix.

As for waterparks ... you can purchase waterpark tickets individually at the gate, at your resort, and guest service locations throughout WDW. I'm sure you can also order them in advance from ticket brokers. There are also annual water park passes.

A one day ticket for TL or BB (you can't hop with a one-day water park ticket) is $36.21 for ages 10 and up and $29.82 for ages 3-9. That includes tax.

An TL/BB Annual Water Park Hopper pass is $106.45 for ages 10 and up and $85.74 for ages 3-9. Includes tax.

You can also purchase an Annual DisneyQuest / Water Park Hopper for $137.39 for ages 10 and up and $105.44 for ages 3-9. Includes tax.

Thanks for all the info. I guess that if we're willing to pay up front, we'll save a lot of money, even if it takes us several years to use up the tickets. Our tickets+hotel for this past trip was $3K (CR tower), I figure we can bring it down to $750 / trip (FW)!

So I just have to figure out the most efficient way to get waterpark tickets. If I were to buy one of the 10 day passes with "extras" for the waterparks, and used up the 10 regular park days, would the extras still never expire?

If you buy the no-expire tickets, the plus options never expire. I would buy the 10-day Premium (hopper and magic plus) tickets that don't expire from Ticket Mania: $379 for adults (10+) and $337 kids (3-9). They are a little bit less if you subscribe to the Mousesavers newsletter and go to Ticket Mania through that link. www.mousesavers.com

Cool! I just recently subscribed, so I haven't gotten a newsletter yet. I guess the TicketMania link will be in the newsletter?

It's great that I can get admission for around $40 per adult per day, including the 5 plus visits! We would love to go to both water parks and DQ (eventually :-)

Oooh - I just thought of another issue. Can you upgrade unused child tickets to adult tickets? My DD9 will be 11 when we next go (her birthday is this month), so we won't be able to use up all her child tickets if we buy a 10 day. You can't transfer the tickets, right? So we'd have to buy her a shorter number of days, then switch her to an adult pass. DS5 still has lots of years at the child price.

WOW -

No Expiry Premium with Park Hopping & Magic Plus (5 Visits) Gate $401.50 Discount $379 with tax and delivery = 37.90 / day. And that's before whatever discount you're mentioning above.

At those prices, it might just be simpler to buy DD9 an adult ticket now (somes out to $4 extra per day, so we'd only be wasting $8 total, and might even save compared to buying her a shorter term child ticket and then switching to adult) so we all come out even :-)
