Why is it that Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios don't have EMH in the evenings no longer?

Is it because of the new Extra Magic Evenings where instead they charge guests for the privilege rather than give it to resort guests?

Maybe.
Expect more changes as the new Star Wars section at DHS factors in.

Except for the opening of Pandora and Toy Story Land, these two parks haven't had late EMH for several years now. The very new paid events didn't play into that. It's more likely the number of guests at the late EMH were too few to make it financially advantageous for Disney to keep having them.

The days when all 4 Parks had a THREE hour PM EMH were amazing!

Sadly,probably never to be seen again.

yeah i swear i remember EMH being 3 in the evening and some nights it made MK open until 3am!

it seems now most resort guests avoid EMH

One of our favorite memories is our very first day of our first trip to WDW when we did MK PM EMH from 11-2am! We had just come in from CA that day, so it was still 11pm for us by the time those EMH ended and we were WIDE awake! The time difference worked in our favor for once. Such an amazing night.

I wish they'd do HS and AK PM EMH. We are big fans of the night ones! It's much cooler then, and the parks are prettier after dark!

And every now and then 4:00 AM!

We did a 4:00 AM MK PM EMH once and came right back for the 9:00 AM open just to day we did it!

We loved PM EMH at AK!!!

That park after dark is really something. Especially EE.

And when a misty fog settled in - truly magical.
