No Electrical Parade this summer (2010)

That's interesting about Spectromagic vs. DEP. We finally saw SpectroMagic last Sept. and I was disappointed in it. I wished it was as good as DEP. I especially thought the music was disappointing. I missed Baroque Hoedown!

But then to each his own. I love DEP! That's why I'm happy my DNephew got cast in it. Now we'll have to make time to see it before it ends. You know where we'll be Friday, March 19th, and 8:45 p.m.

So, .. once WOC opens in DCA, does that mean that there will be no nighttime parade at DL? Any word on what's planned for DL during the night? Or, is everyone expected to pack up and move over to DCA for the WOC show?

DL has not had a true night time parade for a long time - except for the Christmas parade. The Parade of Dreams usually showed at 3:30 and 6:30/7PM. Nightime at DL will be fireworks and Fantasmic. WOC will remove some of the pressure off these shows, especially Fantasmic. That will be a huge relief.

It will also be fun to spend some evenings at DCA. Normally we are out of there and into DL before it gets dark in the summer. The only reason we stayed was to see DEP a couple times. I hope they extend DCA hours later into the evening which they will need to do in summer if they are going to show WOC twice.

While I'm not looking forward to the increase in crowds at DCA for WOC I am figuring DL will now have less people.

Oh, and if my DNephew gets cast in F! on Saturday, there should be less people watching it, which will make it easier for us to see him.

Picky, picky, picky. When I next say "OK, OK, RDCT played year round except for holiday season" then I am gonna get someone say "no it didn't, it only played weekends in low season".

My original point is that RDCT was for four years the primary fireworks show. Now it is just one of four when it is not summer, Halloween or Holidays. Can we move on now?

Fantastic. My last trip to DL they didn't have DEP running because it was November. Now I'm probably going the end of April and it'll be gone? What a cruel joke! It's the one parade I've missed so much. I've been dying to see it. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. Grrrrrrrrrrr. I'm so mad blood is shooting out my eyeballs.

Ok a couple of months behind but I just learned of this today and we are WAY bummed ! I was planning on this parade for our two small kids 2 and 3.5 in June ;( Then we are going to be in WDW next Nov and I dont think it will be going then either so we are missing out again - so not fair

Well any guesses on what will happen after this summer will it stay in WDW?

Interesting article on WDW and the constant getting of borrowed clothes from DL and the ever declining state of the World. If it weren't for Epcot I probably wouldn't go back to WDW.

Awwww. But I love Mulholland Madness. Reminds me of the Mouse Trap they used to have at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (does anyone know if there is a connection??). Sorry to tangent. I, too, shall miss the DEP. I saw it when I was five and fell in love.

An excerpt

So earlier this winter the WDW executives in Orlando made a pitch to borrow the Electrical Parade for a bargain price during that period and use it to try and duplicate the success Disneyland had last summer with the Nightastic! promotion. The Anaheim executives are insisting that Orlando only gets the parade for just under two years, and the current agreement has the parade being shipped back to Disneyland just after Easter vacation of 2012.
