Hi,
We are going to Universal on Tuesday, 4/12/16 and Islands of Adventure on Wednesday, 4/13/16. We chose these 2 days after looking at "crowd calendar" of some sites. These 2 days were "low crowds" comparing to the rest of the week.

I have read it is better to wait until late afternoon to visit Harry Potter lands for both parks than first thing in the morning. Please note that we will not have early entry since we are staying at Disney resort.

What do you all think? Should we hit Harry Potter land for both parks first thing in the morning or late afterfoon? If late afternoon, what time is the best time?

Thank you

If you only have one day for each park, I would wait in line for the ride

Reason I say that is if the ride has a breakdown, it might not be back up quickly

If you wait until the last hour of the evening for the ride and it breaks down, very possible it will not be up for rides that night

Do both times of day. Up until about 11am the crowds will be on the low side and with a "2" day, things will never really get bad. I'd just aim to get to one of the parks at regular opening time and hit HP. Fill in the rest of the day in the other areas then head back to HP during the last hour or two each day.

Also been reading that Despicable Me Minion Mayhem line gets really long. Should we hit Despicable Me Minion Mayhem first than do Harry Potter?

We are from California and have been to Universal Hollywood many times so some rides I'm not that concern such as Transformer, Mummy, Shrek 4D, Simpsons, Terminator, etc. The only ride in Universal Hollywood that we have not done is Despicable Me ride.

We will be doing one park per day - no park hopping.

I would hit DM first then on your studio day.

Even on quiet days that queue can be 45-60 minutes long very early. Most days we arrived arrived around 9am or just after and it was never less than 30 minutes. It got really scary further into the day!

And it's not the most amusing line ever, either. You want a shorter line for Despicable Me, if you can get it.

I always do DM first
Love the entertainment video inside before the ride

Isn't Mummy a different track though?
