No dress steaming?

I would just suck it up and pay to have it steamed. What's $65 bucks in the grand scheme of wedding costs. I bet even dresses that were fine could still look better with a fresh steam. Just my .02 but I am having my dressed steamed the morning of the wedding and the day after for my MK shoot. And I would also rather pay $65 bucks to not have to deal with the hassle of ironing or steaming.. or the stress of lets say scorching it etc. I am just going to pay for the convenience of it.

I'm not an expert, but I have a dress that is chiffon over ?? (polyester??) like that and the "under" dress part is what wrinkled. It didn't look too good after an hour of wearing it. I can't imagine how it would look after a few hours in a suitcase. However, with an "under" material like that you could probably iron the "under" part (not the top chiffon layer!) and the chiffon should fall out great, maybe with some steam from the shower.

Trust me, when you are just able to pay for even an Intimate wedding, and doing everything bare bones, and paying for every dime yourself...even $65 to $85 is a lot to me...so I do not plan to have it steamed when I go down...I'll see how it travels in the Jeep, and then bring my own steamer--after consulting with the bridal shop and my drycleaner!!!

My dress went through a lot of hassel between TN and FL.... it was smooshed with our bags sitting on it... it was hung up in a captains closet but the bottom of the bag had to be pulled up and somethign was sitting on it-- getting it through the airport with all of our bags, etc. It was crazy. When we got to FL we noticed it wasnt that bad at all. However... we did have Carolyn Allen's scheduled to come out and steam. My dress looked just fine before she came-- but once she left I was very very pleased.

Mine looked good but the steamer really gave it the extra "oomph" it needed.

thanks ladies for all your replies... now that my dress is in I pretty much know I'll have to get it steamed because it had some wrinkles in it from being delivered to me.... also, I was reading the carolyn allen website wrong...

you can just get the wedding dress steamed and nothing else....

yay! i'm so excited!
