No Disney until 2012

Put me in the boat too I can't really complain because we got to go last year on a very unexpected trip and it was very fun, but now our only tentatively planned trip is for 2015 and unless things change between now and then, that's it! Can tickers countdown trips more than 5 years away

Hang in there everyone, and like some people said- imagine how many new things there will be for us to see!!! Maybe we can support each other by posting any trip contests that we find.

We're not going back until Jan 2011. My daughter wanted to go again next year, but it's not going to happen. She'll be graduating from college in Dec 2010, (or so she tells me) so Jan 2011 will be a celebration.

It'll also give us time to save up for that trip.

Just think how bad it would be to be in the position a couple of years from now where you would be wishing that you would NOT have wasted that money on stuff/trips you didn't need.

We're in the same boat, and good for you for choosing the right thing!!! I'm finishing my BA degrees (2 of them simultaneously) in December of 2010, we are looking to buy our first house next year, and we are on track to get out of all our credit card debt in the next 18 months. I can't let my desire for DW disrupt my life plans! We're looking at a trip in February 2011, but if any of this stuff takes longer than anticipated, you better believe we're pushing that trip BACK BACK BACK!!!

PS-totally love that you have a three year countdown. I was not sure about doing one so far out, but you have motivated me.

I don't think you are crazy at all! In fact, I am in the beginning stages of planning for 2010, and we last went in 2007.

I hope everyone doesn't think I'm crazy.... Our family won't be able to go to WDW again until 2012 ... We are paying off debt and I am starting grad school in Sept. I am going to get a MS in Ed and get certified to teach. I am a social worker now and want a change. Even though it is a long time, I am looking forward to going back to Disney after I graduate and put some debt to bed by the summer of 2012. Just need some encouragement and hugs that it will all be worth waiting/working for.... Thanks....

I saw your ticker earlier today & I had to do the math since my dh told me we can't go back until 2012. We went last August & he told me 4 years not 3 for our next trip.

So I started couting with your ticker & it actually made me feel better knowing it isn't 4 years anymore.

I do need to pay off one CC & save some more $$$$ but the CC will be paid off by November.

LOL, you sound like our family. I am working on firing our creditors due to DD starting college in three years. Also, I am starting grad school in the fall as well! I am currently a teacher but am returning to school to become a librarian. Best of luck to us both as we wait...

I'll be done with my MLIS in December, in school library media. I have asked for a Disney trip (our first) for a graduation present. We'll see if hub comes through!

I think you've got a great plan, we're doing that too! I'm a Psych major that's done being an insurance agent. I'm going for Elem Ed & so excited to get started towards my next career. Lots of guilt for putting the kids' Disney dreams on hold because we cancelled a trip we would have gone on few weeks ago.

However, it'll feel good to accomplish some goals & go down to celebrate! Good luck w/school & think
how great it will be to walk onto Main St with that new degree & school behind you!

On a different note, are you going to school at night & working during the day? Both, just school? Just curious, I'm doing a combo MA/cert too and the classes are both day & evening. My plan is to work anything I can, probably nights, to make it work & pay bills while I go.

Thanks for all of the encouragement I will be going to school 2 nights a week and working full time....and have a dh and 4 kids... It will be worth it in the end! If I do get a job with a district it will mean.....better pay, better benefits and drum roll........ SUMMERS OFF!!!! By then hopefully we will be able to visit the mouse every year!!!!

I am glad there will be a bunch of us going in 2012....It gives me some hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.... Thanks again!!

You sound like me. I have given DH a "heads up" for my 50th birthday/our 25th wedding anniversary in 2018. I told him nothing but the Polynesian will do so start saving now!

That's when we'll go back as a family too. Summer of 2012. DH is theme parked out he says and it'll take us that long to save back up again.

I just figured out that 2012 will our 25th. I guess planning for them would be awesome. We celebrated our anniversary at WDW in 2005, so this will be even more special.

Anyway, time goes by quickly. I can't believe it's been 5 years since I registered on here and anxiously awaited our first big WDW family trip.

At least we all know how special our long awaited vacations will be.
