Hey guys...
What is the no diaper rule?
Does this mean no Swim Diapers too?
I'm a newbie and I just wanna make sure I can take the baby in the pools with a swim diaper.

Thanks again :bride:

I am so sorry if you did not know about this rule. But Swim Diapers are not allowed either in the pools. So no to non-potty trained babies or toddlers. It is not DCL, it is actually against health guidelines to have a swim diapers in the pools on a ship. It has to do with GI issues that are huge on a ship. Now both ships have a splash zone area that has been added for the little ones. The ears of the Mickey pool are also a special area for them, but no family swimming until you get to Castaway. I guess if you do beaches in other ports of call this is an option too. Of course you will have to be with them in the ear or spash zone, but not in the pools. The ears and splash area has no standing water, it is more like a sprinkler. Sorry, but realize the diaper years do go by fast.

I'm pretty sure now that both ships have the splash zones, the "ear" in the Mickey pool is now off limits too.

per the DCL website:
"Young children, who are not toilet trained, are welcome to enjoy the fountain play area near the Mickey Pool that has been designed exclusively for the enjoyment of children wearing swim diapers."

and from the DCL website FAQ:
"Is it true that children must be toilet-trained in order to enter the pools?

Yes. The United States Public Health Service requires that only children who are toilet-trained be permitted to enter swimming pools and spas onboard cruise ships. Young children who are not toilet-trained are welcome to enjoy the fountain play area near the Mickey Pool. It's designed exclusively for the enjoyment of children wearing swim diapers."

For younger kids, I actually prefer the splash areas. They have some great fountain features (my just turned 5 year old wanted to play there on our last cruise more than the Mickey pool). Personally, I think the Mickey pool gets to crowded and crazy for the little ones. Since it is a larger area, you can't sit as close to the kids. For the diaper aged kids, I'm more comfortable with the splash area because it is generally the younger kids there (less likely to knock down a 2 year old) and you're standing much closer.
