First of all - sorry about the b at the end of my exclamation points! I'm in the process of booking our trip for the end of October and was going to add the Dining Plan. I'm happy there are two snack credits but they took away the desserts. Am I the only one who's bummed about this? lol

I know I can use a snack credit for dessert and to be honest, most of the time we ended up saving our desserts for late night snacks or breakfast but guess I was just surprised. In defense, our last visit was in 2010 so this may not be new news :p

It just changed beginning this year. They added a snack credit on though. It was down to one for the past few years, but I remember in 2010, there were two snack credits.

Desserts were only eliminated with Counter Service meals - they are still included at Table Service meals.

Thanks everyone! I did see on Disney's website after I posted this that there is dessert on Table Service meals. We are in the beginning stages of planning our dining and know we can't book until 5/2/17 but are so excited to try some new restaurants.

I'm actually pleased they took away the QS meal dessert option. I never really enjoyed the QS desserts I chose or could choose from. I'm soooo much more excited to have that extra snack credit so I can use it ANYWHERE :) And most of the time I wasn't hungry enough to want to even eat a dessert after eating a QS meal :)

I agree with most. Now if they took away the dessert and didn't add a snack credit, then I would be sad. Never liked the CS dessert options.

I was initially disappointed until I realized they added the snack credit. That's much better than a QS dessert, most of the time they went to waste for us as they were not very appealing. Much better to have options with the snack credit. So I think it's better the way it is now.

I just got back from a trip with DDP and we didn't miss the CS dessert at all! You still get one at the table service and anything from Karamellküche is better than any CS cupcake. It was so nice to not get desserts we didn't want and felt we had to eat.
That's how I felt! The CS desserts were meh at best and I was usually too full to enjoy them anyway. Now we can use the extra snack credit to get something that's better quality and we eat it when we want to!

The desserts on the quick service meals were nothing to write home about..... I will take the extra snack and get 2 Mickey bars a day instead of a premodern packaged dessert that we never ate

I love that they took away the QS dessert and added a snack. Too many times DD wouldn't finish her meal, but had that snack sitting there, and I wouldn't let her have it because we always tell her if she's too full for real food, she's too full for dessert. But now she can pick a healthier snack later on instead of a gross cupcake with a meal.

I am fan too! Food and Wine is much better use of credits, and we will have double what we had last time

I find that the value is increased for us with the elimination of the CS dessert and addition of a snack instead. WE do love our desserts, but being able to have one later on instead of right after lunch is a bonus. The variety is much increased as well.

It actually worked out better for us. We didn't care for the QS desserts and were always too full to eat them anyway. We were able to get much better snacks a couple of hours after eating.

I'm another fan of this too. I wasn't at first, but, being a diabetic I don't need a dessert with my two meals. I never even ate them-I always let the kids split them, but they don't need all of that either. I'm thrilled with two snacks. :)

Never was hungry for the dessert, so the extra snack was better. And you can use it for much more than just sweets.
