No Day But Today- FINAL post on page 40!

i have to try the tea some day - would you go solo?

i have to try the tea some day - would you go solo?

There was a lady sitting at the table next to us who was there solo, and she looked quite content! I don't personally like to spend a lot of money on a meal unless I'm sharing it with someone, but I think the tea could be fun solo! It's a good place to people-watch- we got to see a girl who was having her (13th, I think?) birthday- the restaurant sang to her, it was very nice!

So I basically just spent half my day reading through your trip report and got nothing done that I needed to get done. Oh well! It's so fun to read and I just love it! It's getting me psyched for my birthday trip in March. I can't wait to read more!

Aww, thanks! I've gotten nothing done today, either- must be contagious!

I've got the next part of the report pretty much ready to go- I just like to space them out a little bit so that just loading each page of the report doesn't send me over my monthly bandwidth limit! :rotfl2:

After tea, we decided to go outside and wander around the GF, and take “a few” photos.

We took more than a few. A lot more! But it was fun! (And it’s rare that I have WDW photos with me actually in them!)

My favorite part of the view from our tea was, of course, the Polynesian!

polynesian.jpg

It’s so pretty across the water!

gf5.jpg

“Welcome to my resort, loyal subjects!”

gflorid.jpg

Although the GF is pretty, too!

gf14.jpg

“Hey, go stand over there with the roses, and I’ll take your picture!”

gf11.jpg

My turn!

….and that’s how it all started.

“Hey! Go stand on that rock!”

gf26.jpg

That rock was harder to balance on than it looks!

gf13.jpg

…as demonstrated by Katie, falling off of it here!

gf12.jpg

“Hey, go sit on that wall!”

gf20.jpg

Apparently, I find sitting on walls hi-larious!

A nice guy stopped by and offered to take one of us together. Hooray!

gf21.jpg

And then, we spotted a boat thing!

gf15.jpg

gf16.jpg

…and then a hammock!

gf17.jpg

Hammocks are relaxing!

gf18.jpg

But much more complicated than they look!

And now, as a break from having to look at the two of us, here’s a pretty flower!

gfflower.jpg

Feel refreshed? Good! Moving on!

We decided to walk along the beach towards the Wedding Pavilion.

gf19.jpg

I’m not sure at what point the roses became our favorite photo props ever.

gf3.jpg

Ooooh, artsy. Check out my mad photo skillz, yo.

gf4.jpg

Please explain why I have only 4 fingers in this photo???? How creepy is THAT?

gf2.jpg

Um, Katie? I think photos ON the bridge would be better…

gf1.jpg

Oh, fine, whatever.

gf8.jpg

See, ON the bridge! Not under!

gf9.jpg

This mail order bride can be yours for the price of a DVC membership and a big ol’ diamond! Now accepting applications! (All applications must be approved by the girl’s cat before being seriously considered.) (And, um, I’m kidding. Please don’t go applying. But you can get me the DVC membership and the big old diamond, and I might let you buy me a drink.)

gf10.jpg

Ah hah! Katie figured out which end of the bridge is up!

gf6.jpg

Katie plans to marry herself today. Or maybe she has the Commodore stashed away inside the wedding pavilion?

I snuck up to the wedding pavilion all sneaky-like to see if we could go in, but there was a wedding rehearsal going on inside, so I had to sneak back away! Hopefully they didn’t notice me peeking in the door!

gf23.jpg

(Last 2 pictures in next post- went over the photo limit!)

But I did find this fab purple flower on the ground by the door, so into my hair it went! Score!

gf24.jpg

We thought about walking on to the Poly, but then remembered that Katie was parked at the GF, so back we went!

gf22.jpg

Bye, Floridian!

As we pulled back into the WL, I made Katie pull over so that I could take some pictures. Luckily, they have a little pull over spot built just for the purpose!

After a quick break at the resort (Where we finally fulfilled our tradition of watching Japanese TV and making up stories to go with it!), we headed back out to Epcot, with plans to hit our beloved Adventurers Club after!

Since we’d done Future World the night before, we went straight to World Showcase tonight, starting on the Mexico side. (Well, we actually stopped to ride SSE first, but it was kind of a disappointment because the speakers in our car weren’t working well. What’s up with the lack of sound on rides this trip?)

As always, I had to stop to check out the carvings in Mexico! (And nope, I STILL haven’t bought one!)

Have you ever done the fun video postcards from Mexico?

We have!

We had to stop in Norway for the traditional troll and gift shop photos…

trollkt.jpg

trollcw.jpg

Something about the troll with his hand on my bootie never stops being funny.

norwaykt2.jpg

Katie does her part to promote Norwegian tourism

norwayc.jpg

Ready for battle!

norwaykt.jpg

Arrrrrrrr!

We thought about going on the Maelstrom, but the wait was 20 minutes. No way! (And we even went into the building to check the line to see if it was the kind of “20 minute wait” that means walk-on, or the kind that actually means 20 minutes. It was the latter!)

We stopped in Italy for some photos on the Italian Isola. Katie’s turned out cute, but I looked freaky in mine, so we’ll just share hers!

ktitaly.jpg

We were basically just breezing through the countries tonight- we didn’t actually do much of anything! We did get a few Photopass photos taken, but this is the only one that turned out at all decent.

photopass9.jpg

In France, we were treated to a hilarious show in the Boulangerie as we stood in line for snacks. There was one French guy working behind the counter taking orders, and another who kept coming from the kitchen with trays of food. Each time the guy carrying trays came back behind the counter, he would leave the little gate wide open. The other guy would roll his eyes, look incredibly annoyed by this, and latch the gate. And then it would start all over again!

(Katie and I found grumpy eye-rolling guy hot. If you need us, we’ll be in therapy.)

Remember how I’d been wanting cheese for days now? I finally picked up a cheese plate (yummy!). I wasn’t in the mood to eat a bunch of cheese right now, though, so I stuck it in my bag. (It was well wrapped, don’t worry!) Katie had some kind of croissant sandwich, and I had a chocolate mousse. LOVE that chocolate mousse!

We were both pretty tired, so we decided to go back to the WL and just hang out for a while before setting off for the Adv Club,

While we were up in the room, I went to snap a picture of something, and… crap! Where’s my camera?

I last remembered having it on the bench in France, when I moved things around in my bag to make room for the cheese. I hadn’t left it there, had I? Ohhh, I hope it’s in Katie’s car!

We ran down to the parking lot, and voila! Camera in the car! Oh, thank goodness!!!!

Katie’s stomach was feeling a little weird, so we decided that the Adv Club was out for tonight. She went home, and I ate cheese!

cheese.jpg

Cheese!

As I was eating, I heard the Electrical Water Pagent going on outside, but by the time I got out there, it was over. D’oh!

I called my house to see what my mom was up to, and found out that there was a big snow storm moving in. Oh yay, maybe I’ll get stuck here!

And thus ends the fabulous Day 4! More of my

coming up soon!

hahaha looks like you two had a blast!!! lol I really love the on of Katie infront of the wedding pavilion then you holding the rose upclose. beautiful!! I think im gonna need some quality time relaxing on one of those hammocks when i go!! Cant wait to read more!

Absolutely fabulous report Crystal! I have to say thank you for sharing such an entertaining report with all of us :)
I can't wait to try out those Poly hammocks myself!

would you recommend picking up a cheese plate to bring back to your room for a snack later? thinking of this coming april when Im staying at the BCV - thanks

It actually worked surprisingly well! The whole plate is saran-wrapped pretty well (and the bread they give you is in a bag), so it's quite portable. Just don't leave it in your bag too long and become the stinky cheese person!

Awesomeness. I love your trip report. Although, I used to live in Oaxaca (the city in Mexico where alebrejes (the animals) are made), and I always die a little inside when I see what they go for in the US.

Day 5

Know what is no fun at all? Leaving the Wilderness Lodge!

Know what makes it a little better? Knowing you’re on your way to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

stacy.jpg

Goodbye, big flat screen TV! (And goofy TV host, who I am sure will follow me to my next resort!)

I had most of my stuff already packed up, so I just had to toss a few more things in the bags before calling Bell Services to have them picked up. I wasn’t in a hurry to get anywhere today, so I spent some time just wandering around the Lodge.

A few photos from my WL wanderings… (And we all know what “a few” means by now! I took 190, but I promise not to post them ALL!)

I’ve heard a lot about the nature trail that runs from the WL over to Fort Wilderness, so I wanted to go check it out. Finding it was a little confusing, though!

pathsign.jpg

This sign was up by the Lodge…

wltrailsign.jpg

And here’s the sign that was at the beginning of the trail. Doesn’t it look like it should go to the bike trail? Why doesn’t it say nature trail? I’m so confused!

wltrail.jpg

I only walked a little way down the trail before turning around, but it was really nice! My only complaint was that the trail is sand- no fun if you’re wearing flip flops! I was tempted to go ahead and do the whole trail, but it’s a mile to FW, and then a mile back, and I didn’t want to wear myself out first thing in the morning!

So nice of them to put the bar conveniently close to the exercise trails!

More of Day 5 Coming Up!

I'm loving your report. Do you have ALL of the pictures you took uploaded to a site like Ofoto or photobucket and care to share them. I absolutely love looking at people's pics. It's because of your reports that I finally got my rear in gear and booked my first albeit short solo trip for this March.

Crystal -- I didn't get to post the other day but I just had to stop by and say You're so lucky getting that close to Joe!:thumbsup2 When I was there in January, I was also on the lookout....never happened for me though.

Hey -- I noticed you are going back. What are you dates going back?

;) I love your trip report, Crystal! I have been sitting here reading it for the past hour (my laptop battery is about to run out)! Thank you so much for taking the time to post in such detail. I love your pictures. They are absolutely beautiful.

On a side not, I bought the same glittery castle shirt on our September trip. It was so cute and I put it on right away. Well, I don't know if you noticed but it shed glitter really bad. It was really hot so I was sweating badly. When I was washing my hands at the MK, I looked in the mirror and I looked like someone had spray painted me with glitter. :scared1:

I was so embarrassed but there was nothing I could do. The more I tried to get it off, the worse it got. Now if I was a teenager I wouldn't have minded so much. By the end of the day, my poor DH and DS were coated too. I don't know if I had a particularly glittery one or if they were all like that. It was so bad that the big flakes of glitter even showed up in pics as spots on me.

I haven't worn the shirt since we got back. :lmao: After washing it looks like it lost most of its glitter but I am still a little nervous to wear it. ;)

I'm planning to eventually put a bunch of them up on my site, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe when I get bored after the Trip Report is finished!

A lot of the ones I took are really boring or blurry or both- it takes me a lot of shots to get one I actually like!

If only I'd gotten a chance to talk to him! I would love the chance to say Thank You, but it would probably come out as "Mrrhrrfmsmrt!" or something. :rotfl2:

Plans are in the making for "Disneyween 2007". Right now I'm looking at Oct 27-Nov 2, but dates are still tentative. I mostly want an excuse to sew an awesome pirate costume and wear it to MNNSP, and to see the halloween shennanigans at the Adv Club!

Oh no! I was lucky enough not to have that problem with the shirt when I wore it, but the glitter did come off within a few washings. It's a couple of years old now, and there's no glitter left- I didn't realize how shabby it looked until I saw the new ones in the store! My shirt needs to be refurbished for my future enjoyment!

I did have a similar problem with a shirt that had BLACK glitter on it once, though! I wore it to work, and soon noticed black spots ALL over my arms! And, delightfully enough, the glitter's favorite spot to stick was my armpits! (It was a tank top.) I looked like I had some horrible skin condition, and didn't shave my underarms! :scared1:

Loving the report Crystal but what did happen to your other finger in that picture? Bizarro!

Allyson

LOL, had to top me with the black glitter.:lmao: That sounds awful. Although when we were there, it was lovebug season so everyone may have thought they were just a few baby lovebugs!:rotfl2:

Loved the new installment! And I especially love all your pictures of the Wilderness Lodge. When I worked at WDW on the college program I used to love catching a bus over to WL just to wander around in awe. It's such a gorgeous resort! Glad you got your cheese fix! I know how you feel...I love cheese :thumbsup2

Anyway, can't wait for more! I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures of AKL :)
