No codes?

I apologize if this has been discussed before or if this isn't the right place for it.

I called 2 weeks ago to see if I had any codes and I did - just not ones I can use this time. I called this morning to check again and was told they will no longer reveal code information and I can only use one if it's e-mailed to me or comes in the regular mail. In all the years I've been going to Disney, I've never had a code e-mailed and never received one in the mail so I guess I'm out of luck :(

Is this really the new policy or did I just get an unhelpful cast member?
 
So why is there a code in our name if we never received it?

Seems odd.

I got what I thought was my first e-mailed earlier this year (and booked it!) but this makes me wonder how many others I've had out there.
 

I don't know. After reading tips here, I just started calling periodically to see if there was a code associated with my name. Although we were never notified we had one, I've always been offered several. In December we got 40% off our room. When I last called, I had one for kids free everything. (Figures my kids aren't going this time.) Now there will be these secret codes by our names that we can never find out! :mad:
