i called to book WL for christmas eve and day. the CM said that there are no codes for major holidays like christmas/easter day. we are staying concierge so that means rack rate  ...i'm just checking with you guys to make sure that that info is correct.

Christmas day and major holidays are extrememly busy at WDW. They can fill the parks and resorts without any problems. That is why they have no incentive to offer any discuounts. Discounts usually come around during slower times when they try to get park attendance up

This is the exact reason my DH and DS are heading down on December 19th--the last day of value season at the value resorts. They'll get three days to head to Universal (which I don't like at all) and we'll be saving $350 in hotel alone.

We checked-in on the 21st and stayed through the 27th. Rates for that time period were WONDERFUL!!!

We stayed at AKL Concierge last Xmas Eve 12/24/05 (booked in Nov) for $418.00 AP - $374.87 plus $43.13 taxes :teeth:

If you check in during value season your rate will stay the same for your whole trip even if you are there on Christmas day. We were at the cabins last year at a$169 (plus tax) rate

We paid rack rate this past Christmas week and just made reservations for this coming Christmas and have rack rate again. Unfortunately they don't offer discounts between the week of Christmas and New Years, but it's still a fun time. What's worse is the airfare for that week! It's almost double than what you would pay any other time of year.

We are also checking in on 19th and staying at the Contemporary. We got value season and a AAA rate.

I have read that there might be codes offered up to 24th December but nothing for the week in between Christmas and the New Year

Is there an AP discount for the week between Christmas and New Years? I was thinking of buying an annual pass - the official website has only the most general description of what benefits there are. Any help would be most appreciated.

KC :sunny:

We stayed at the YC with a BRP (AP) room rate last year from 12/25 to 12/30. When we made the reservations the only resorts with the BRP were the EPCOT area resorts (BWI, YC and BC). We wanted to stay at the WL, but nothing was available at the time we made our ressies.

We are pulling our kids out of school for the two days before Christmas break just so we can check in during value season. We arrive on the 18th. We also have the AAA package with dining.

We had a code that ended Christmas day. We were able to arrive on Christmas and use the code all the way until after New Years. This was 2004/2005.

Hope that helps. :goodvibes

We were there Dec 23rd thru Dec 30th 2005. I dont remember the exact amount, but it was around $70 per night plus tax for All Star Sports. I remember thinking that it was close to half of the rack rates. If you can adjust by a couple days and get the discount -say discount is good through Dec 23 and you arrive the 23rd you will be able to stay entire stay at the discounted rate. Only other time we ever got a Christmas discount was quite a few years ago and they had a special 40% off future stay if you booked while you were in your room and called from your hotel room. It was difficult to figure out our schedule so many months out (we were there 1st part of June) but we booked two rooms and it all worked out great.
