I just looked at the menus and realized that the assorted cheeses appetizer platter that my husband and I loved so much is off the menu. Has anyone asked for it and still got it?? That was one of the main reason I booked LC.:sad2:

I don't know if it's the same platter, but the Rose & Crown has a good one on their menu.

LC is still good regardless. DH and I went there for the first time in Feb. They have the best bread and of course the choco mouse!

The Rose & Crown platter is a joke; there's hardly any cheese on it. Oh, and a rock-hard, cold biscuit that they will tell you is cheddar, but it's actually just a mealy, dry biscuit. Not sure what's going on there...

We were extremely disappointed in the miniscule pieces of fairly standard cheeses on this platter. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to a cheese lover.

Cheers!

The cheese sampler at LC was excellent...There were like 3 different cheese - all with their own type of sauce to go with them. They were heavenly! I'm going to ask if they can still prepare it when we get there.

Have you been to the Rose & Crown in the last two months? I've always loved the fruit/cheese platter at Rose & Crown, but ate there this past May and was very disappointed. The good old cheese platter is now replaced with one much smaller and no where near as good. The green cheese, striped cheese, and the cheese biscuit are now gone. You get only like two tiny slices of apples, three or four grapes, and a few candied walnuts. I always make an ADR for Rose & Crown every trip, but will not be returning during either of my upcoming trips in Sept/Oct or Dec.

As far as the OP question, I don't know. I ate at Le Cellier this past May, but did not notice if the cheese plate was on the menu. They do have a fantastic new duck two ways appetizer though.

We ate at the Rose & Crown over a year ago. The menu change is a dissapointment! I guess we wont waist our time trying to get a table during Illuminations in our upcoming trips.

Thanks for the tip!

This doesn't help, I know, but Yachtsman Steakhouse has a just amazing cheese plate. It was one of the best things I ate on our trip last year.

I wonder if I could get an ADR just for that...or maybe to go?
