No charges to be filed after 'Tigger' complaint

This is great news, I am sure that the CM is relieved and I hope he goes out and has a great celebration with his friends and family!

This is the first I had heard of the incident. On another board, I had heard Tigger was arrested but hadn't heard the whole story. I just watched the link on YouTube and from the video it appears that the kid must have done something to the character. Tigger was posed for a picture and then jumps like he was pinched or hit from the back. Now don't attack me for this, but it does appear Tigger grabbed the kids arm and turned to push him away - a normal response for anyone who was hurt by another...plus, being dressed in those costumes, I highly doubt Tigger could have known where his hand would be in refernce to the boy. Therefore, I am glad that the charges were dropped but I am curious if the man portraying Tigger ever gave a response. Did the boy do something to provoke the character?

I can't say that I totally blame the family for being concerned. Again, I don't know much on this story but if this happened to my child I would probably be a bit alarmed. Granted, I wouldn't sue but that's just not how I do things either.

that Tigger could file a slander lawsuit against the family. He didn't lose his job so there wouldn't be any monetary dameges that he could pick up so I am pretty sure he wouldn't have a case. But if someone else knows for sure that he could, that would be great!!

Remember 2 years ago or something there was another Tigger character who was accused of groaping a 13 or 14 year old Girl, however he was found not guilty. Unless I am wrong I don't he filed a slander lawsuit, so I don't think this person will either although you never know what he may do.

HOORAY for TIGGER!

That is wonderful news! :cheer2:  :cool1: :dance3: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

I don't think the guy playing Tigger was arrested. The police took a statement from him where he said he felt someone come up to the side of him a place their hand behind his back (because of the costume, he could only see straight ahead thru the nose of the costume and could not see the person coming up by him). His police statement said that whatever the person was doing behind his back/neck, it was pulliing on the costume, which choked him and he lost his balance trying to get away.

Watching the video, that looks to be much more realistic than thinking he just all out punched some kid he didn't know. Thanks!

And the other story I was referring to was actually regarding Beast (from Beauty and Beast show) and he was arrested for child pornography...sorry for the mix up!

I'm guessing with all the surveillence that exists in WDW, there must be videotape showing the back of Tigger on the fateful day, and exactly what the boy was grabbing/touching. I refuse to believe the family's video was the only photographic evidence in this case.

That's a funny post. :rotfl:You don't blame the family for "being concerned." I don't blame Tigger for being a little concerned for some punk trying to choke him with his own costume.

Many children at that age are in martial arts. When I practiced (learned) judo, we learned several different types of chokes which are legal in competition. Several of them use the competitor's dogi (uniform) against them to speed the action of the choke.

This kid thought he would be sly and cunning by putting a choke on some poor guy working for very little money in a hot costume. Shameful.

Tinks_gang, you clearly don't love Tigger enough. ;)
